chapter 5

When they get to the ground floor, Ari peeks through the glass and doesn't see any movement. The floor is a wreck, less blood was here than the other floors an Ashley seems to be staring at the stairs leading to the basement.

" Ashley do you see something" Ari said while stepping closer to the woman, she shakes her head No and continues looking down.

(" for a split second I thought I seen someone, but I dont want to worry them") Ashley thought to herself while keeping her eyes toward the bottom stairs.

" ok single file, everyone do not make noise when we move" Ari said pulling out her cell phone and calls Lillian.

" Ari thank god your ok" Lillian said while pacing back and forth, she watches the swat team getting ready to Enter.

" Ari two teams are going to enter the front and through the back doors to the basement" Lillian said while watching the men cutting on the front door that is in lock down, both teams are cutting through the doors and both teams of twelve will enter.

" I'm at the east stair well on the ground floor, can you se anything on the ground floor from the front" Ari said while he hand is holding onto Lens.

"hold on, Captain" Lillian said

Ari waited while staring through the glass, she thought she seen movement from the shadows. The red lights wasnt helping her see throughout the hall, a noise from behind them sounded out.

Ari quickly turns around to see that one of the girls dropped a can of mace, she sighs then turns back around. The whole window was now blacked out, she steps back from the window.

" I, I think something big is on this floor" Ari said out loud while she stared at the window, fear was evident in her movements and voice. Lillian came back to the phone, while talking to the captain.

" They are entering now" Lillian said while moving forward, she stood beside a squad car watching the team enter.

" Lillian tell them that a thing half the size of the hallway is standing in front of the east stair well door. It's something I-I dont know what these things are" Ari said whil Len grips her arm pointing up stairs, Ari pulls the phone away from her ear to listen and that clicking noise was coming from above them. Ari points to the basement door, she seen that Ashley was hesitant so she takes the lead with Len holding onto her.

They go down a few steps, she looks to all corners and sees nothing.

" let's go" Ari whispers while Thea pulls Ashley behind her, three of the girls girls move behind them. The other girl was slowly going to the ground floor door, looking through the glass and glass shatters.

Ari quickly turns around to see a large clawed hand ripped through the small pane of glass gripping the girls upper torso, the metal of he window bent open around the hand and already pulled the girls upper body through.

Ari tried to run back but Len pulled her back while Thea and Ashley opened the door, everyone was screaming. Lillian held te phone away from her ear, then runs forward to the captain.

" the group of survivors are being attacked" Lillian said while the Captain radios to the team to move forward to the east stair well.

They quickly run in the Basenent door, len heard the clicking sound coming faster toward them whil she pushes Ari and herself behind the door. They close the door while pressing their backs against it, the girls were crying loudly and Thea shakes one who was screaming.

" Quiet they could be down here" Thea said while everyone quieted down, while looking around the room. Ashley points to a door and walks over to a desk, she goes through the drawers while Thea looks through some cabinets and pulls out a flashlight and Ashley pulls out a set of keys.

" Lillian are you still there, were in the basement and whatever these things are they are quite strong and be careful of people who look like victims they are attacking others. Just stay away from here, go home with Evelyn " Ari said

Lillian sighs while opening her trunk and pulling out a shotgun, she then p Ari kept walking t the front of he group, while keeping her eyes peeled to the front and Len would go with the light at every turn of Aris head. There was lights but not all of the area was visible from the shadows, Thea kept glancing behind them to make sure nothing was coming from the rear, even though they blocked the door that led from the stair well with the furniture from the office, those things seemed to be unworldly strong.

" hey keep that light shining behind you to be sure nothing is coming up behind us, what are your names" Thea said while Ashley held on to the hem of her shirt.

" I'm sam, this is Racheal an theone with the flash light is Sia" Sam said while holding Rachel's hand, Sia kept shining teligt behind them and making sure to sweep the whole hallway.

Finally Ari came to a door at the end of the hallway, a large metal door with no glass or anyway to peer in to see what was in the next room.

" I'll go check it out, you guys wait here until I come back" Ari said while taking the flashlight from Len, she slides the door open ad quickly shines the light around. When she turns to shut the door, Len was right behind her and slides the door shut while looking ahead in the large room.

" what are you doing Len, wait with the others" Ari hissed, Len glared at her and all forward and Aris face turned red with anger. Len looks around the large shelves that filled this room, then walks closer to the first one. She sees athlete equipment from badminton to hockey sticks, she picks up a bat and does a mock swing with it.

" Ari we should let them in, if something comes and ere to far ahead they might get lost" Len said alking back over to the door.

" guys come on" Len said while standing by the door, when Sia enters she quickly shuts the door back and walks over grabbing the badminton net.

" Sia help me tie this to that steel pipe running down beside the door." Len said while thegirls secure the door in place, she shows the others hockey sticks and bats and they each grab one. Thea sees a basket for tennis balls, she places all the bottles inside and grabs a metal bat. Ashley grabbed a hockey stick, Ari waited for all of them to get situated and Len carried a extra bat under her arm for Ari.

" now stay together, try to watch the shelves and if you see movement let me know" Ari said while they make their way through the maze of shelves.

They didn't know something was on the ceiling, watching them from the shadows and drool was dripping down hitting the floor.

Lillian parked her car at the back, she grabbed her flashlight, attaching it to her shotgun and didnt see the team or other cops anywhere.

(" maybe there inside, since the phones went down she had no way to contact her partner and sister in law") Lillian thought about Evelyn breaking down, I have to get her out and screw work. Evelyn has money out the ass, they just wanted their own careers ad to persue a dream of theirs since college.

She makes her way inside the basement door, no one was in sight and nothing moved and her radio broke the silence.

" ahhhhhh he-HELP !!" a voice rang out across the radio with gunfire in the background, she quickly turns her radio down while leaning her back against the wall and tried to listen to the noise she heard during the radio transmission. Now she can hear radios squawking from up ahead, all of them seem to be coming from the door up ahead.

Lillian felt a cold sweat covering her body her hand was a few inches above the door knob, fear was surrounding her and her gut feeling told her to not open that door. Lillian slowly walks away from the door on the right ad walks to the door straight ahead of her, she quietly walks over to the door and opens it.

It was clear she proceeded ahead, when she heard a crunching noise behind her and behind the door she just came through. She puts her ear against the door to listen, she could still hear the crunching noise and also someone whimpering.

" wh-what are you things pl-please just kill me, ahhhhhh I-it's eating m-" the man was screaming out then a loud crunch was heard and silence was what followed. She quickly backs away from the door and heads out through another one, she heard someone whispering to someone. She quietly opens the door, when she walks in, there was some couches and chairs along with Tables. A light flickered to the floor in front of her, she closes the door and locks it. A officer comes out from behind a couch, then she sees twelve others and a man in a janitors outfit.

" he needs first aid, what happened to the rest of your team" Lillian said while getting the first aid out of her bag, she throws it over to a young man who is standing by the janitor.

" what ever those things are, their in human.... my lieutenant and his men were put down within a few minutes, this man pulled me through the door. Its tongue that had some kind of teeth or hell I dont even know what it had all over its tongue and when it pierced him. I got off a few rounds, it retreated back to the room on the right where it took all of my teammates to" The man said while scratching his nape, he looked back at the people and then toward theother door.

" that thing will not let us through, we need to head up to the ground floor" the officer said while reloading his machine gun, he nods to the group behind him. ulls out several handguns and makes sure there loaded. She shoves her .38 into te holster at her ankle, puts on a holster around her thigh with a .45 desert eagle. Then her 9mm in theone on her side, she pulls out a small duffle bag, se puts in the extra mags, shells and a couple Bowie knives.

" I'm bringing you your shotgun, I'm gonna enter through the back" Lillian said while slinging the extra shotgun around her shoulder.

" Lillian don't come " Ari said and was cut off, the phone said no service, a fearful look washed over her face and she checks her ammo.

(" great two mags") Ari thought while moving over to the door, Thea was grabbing chemicals while stuffing torn rags into the top of he bottles she mixed and handed the bottles to Ashley next to her.

" make sure we light it before throwing it, we only have eight and you girls carry some" Thea said while carrying two bottles, she stayed beside Ashley while crept through the door.

A large tunnel was through the door, several rooms were located on each side of the tunnel, water could be heard hitting the stone ground. They have two flash lights one of the girls in the back held one and Len had the other.
