Chapter 12

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach. It was the same handwriting as the note that came with Ash. How could that even be possible? How did Rima know where I lived or that I was lonely? I looked around for a moment sure I was going to find a hidden camera crew that had been filming me quietly losing my shit for days. When Ashton Kutcher didn't appear, I sank lower into my seat.

This can not be happening. That was real. It had to be!

I practically ran back into the thrift store looking for the cashier I had spoken with before I left. When I reached the register, I was out of breath and drenched in sweat. The young lady at the front looked horrified at my appearance but offered me a towel.

"Ma'am, are you ok?" She asked passing me the towel.

"The woman-" my breath was ragged "-did you see the woman I came here with," I shouted.
