The Witching Hour V

"Your struggle is pointless…..If I cant have what I want then no one can." Pure insanity came from Enchantress's mouth. The Justice League battered against a seemingly impenetrable forcefield. Bolts of magic pile drove into the leaguers. "In fact, why dont I-"

"Quiet!" Drumm's command was followed by a blast of a familiar green energy. Her forcefield weathered from the blast, visibly corroding.

"How!" Before long, she was swept through the air by the powerful blast, throwing her into tombstones. Batman eyed the man warily, taking mental notes of everything he witnessed as he stood back, trying to work a way around the energy marking the sky.

"YOU DARE!!!" The Enchantress healed slowly from the attack. She knew another attack would decimate her. Hand signs and evocation made an monster appear in record time.

'That was too quick, somethings wrong.' Brother Voodoo internally said as he took in the figure. While not tall or otherwise physically imposing, the dark haired, red-eyed creature filled the air with palpable menace. When Jericho saw a demon of this power last, it had to restrain it's magic. Now, no semblance of restraint remained and the power that radiated from it was like standing too close to a bonfire. "A marquis? You made a deal with a marquis demon? Why did I jot sense a demon of this level being summoned?"

She didn't answer, only snarling in disgust at the being, still directing it to attack Voodoo. In its path was the Justice League, standing hurt but ready to fight.

Enchantress didn't move, but she felt Jericho flick a singularity at Difit, the demon. She didn't know what that sub-dimensional construct would do, but assumed it to be an attack.

She was right. As Superman imploded himself into the demon chest, his singularity tore up the Earth, racing towards the enemy demon. "Voodoo! Stop!" Wonder Woman warned as she saw what would happen to her colleague and close friend.

A red streak made Superman disappear, "GOT HIM!" The demons teeth flashed in terrible glee. Hellfire poured out in a sea of flames, burning the very magic that made Jericho's attack.

He grimaced. 'Dammit!' Jericho swore madly before flashing spells at the demon, each targeted to distract.

His allies charged, Wonder Woman at the front, her shield protecting the less durable members from soul searing fire. "HAAH!" Her war cry was followed by arrows from the emerald archer and a cry from the Black Canary. Each doing absolutely nothing.

"AWAY!" The witch declared. The earth upturned, throwing the scarlet speedster of course. That didn't stop the man of steel from cracking the annoyed demon across its face.

"HEHEHE!" It giggled at the attack before flinging Superman away with a swat, powerful eyes could see him slam through buildings miles away. "COME!" He reversed his summoners orders. It lunged at the amazonian.

"FACE ME DEMON!" Tightening her grip on her sword. As he closed, the amazonian fell into an easy stance, shield held ready in front of her, sword raised next to her head. Diana adjusted her step, circling to her right -- just outside the reach of the hell spawn's swing.

She attacked, swiping her blade across the skin and bleeding her enemy. "Good, good girl." His voice irritated her. A green hammer clocked into the beast's head while a simple explosion clouded the head of the demon in smoke.

"Wonder Woman, retreat!-" Batman couldn't finish as a rip in space swallowed him up.

"The hell-" The same went for Green Lantern followed by the rest of the league as they looked on in confusion and concern.

The demon surveyed the grave yard. "You would deprive yourself of allies, sorcerer? Bravery or foolishness, I wonder which plagues your mind." His condescending voice didn't stop it seemed.

"Allies? As if I need them to deal with you, they have more meaningful tasks to accomplish at the moment." Doctor Voodoo stepped out of invisibility dawning his deity given costume. "Your magic knows no end, demon but you haven't met someone like me, allow me to introduce myself."

"And how-" A melon-sized chunk of phased dark-matter flew into the demon and imploded, the open side belching out a stream of rasping fiery gas in The Enchantress's direction. The concussion knocked Difit off of his twisted feet with gasp, while the angry witch reeled backward with a snarl.

Jericho prepared to put his underused abilities to use. A quick slice and his blood was multiplied into a sea of blood, all of it rushing to drown the duo.

Heart blasting in fear, she punched out a hand and speared her summon with an anchoring bolt.

As he had done with an angel he fought, he inverted the construct's interface and fluxed his wound closed. "How many millions of years has it been since something has harmed me?" He asked quietly. He shrugged the anchor off as dark lightning impulsed into the blood, evaporating the liquid with just a touch. "Hopefully you can entertain me thoroughly."

Desperate to keep the demon on the defensive, Voodoo snapped a gate under its feet, slashed open a conduit from the nearby ocean over its head, and created a pin-hole into the vacuum of the portals interior at its back. A vortex of nether infused water tore at the hell forged skin. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

You wretch!" she screeched.

It had been a nice life. At least he got to experience new powers before their vastly more experienced donor flushed him into a star or something equally horrible.

Murder in her eyes, Enchantress slashed one-two-three blades at him in rapid succession. Focused on survival, he deflected, the air glowing and flashing as he disassembled the fabrications before they formed.

Still surprised from her attack being closed, the sorceress didn't react to the morphing underfoot before she became planted knee deep in the dirt. That shock delayed her response to the two other threats. A drenching downpour of surf bludgeoned her like a coastal breaker an instant before the powerful suction of a void yanked her and the water in another direction.

Billowing purple flames beat against a quickly formed shield. It wouldn't hold as Jericho could see magic itself morphing under the strange effects of hellfire. "Take a seat!" A army of whipping shadows and nether knocked aside Difit, washing a flailing demon into the middle of a far shop. The counter-person dove through an opening in the shop rear.

It took the witch an eye-blink to recover and dismiss Brother Voodoo's gates, but not before she'd become a soggy wind-blown mess buried up her knees with another blast of nether that was hastily avoided, upturning dirt.

The witch growled, tearing herself out of the rock and lashing out at him two, four, six portals with the obvious intent of rending him to pieces. As fast as she cast, he detected the invoked anomalies, analyzed their superpositions, created their entropic antithesis and forced them shut in crackling polychromatic bursts of spent mana.

"'The hell?" she cursed, stomping toward him.

He burst a swarm of inky black bulls at the witch. The glowering woman chopped through the oncoming mass as though her arm were a honed war-blade. His eyes widened at the sight. 'Oh shit.' He whispered to himself. He didn't get the time to mentally curse as a fist pummeled him into the ground.

"Im not done, human! WE JUST GOT STARTED!"
