Bruce slammed on the brakes, nearly crashing himself again. He quickly got out of the car and looked in that direction, only to find mechas flying in the air.
"Stark, it's Stark." Bruce ground his teeth and said, "Two Starks are fighting each other, I shouldn't have..."
He couldn't finish his sentence, even though he did release Jane's consciousness with some spite, but essentially, he wanted to thwart Evil Stark's plan.
Poisoning the water supply in San Francisco was no small matter. At first, it made people more beautiful and powerful, but it also made them aggressive, which would greatly increase the crime rate. His intention was to stop this 'White Can' business from happening.
Of course, he knew fighting between two Starks could escalate into a world war, so his next plan was to contact Osborn from the Osborn Group.
While Osborn might not be able to stop two Iron Men, joined with other superheroes such as Captain America and the official forces of the cosmos, they could at least delay things for a while.
But for some reason, their fight was more fierce than expected. Evil Stark even sent out a Mecha Army and bombed the Golden Gate Bridge. Wasn't this a blatant declaration of war to the world?
"Someone has put a lot of pressure on him," Jane said. "Otherwise his reaction wouldn't be so intense. Could it be Captain America?"
The answer came quickly when car after car from S.H.I.E.L.D. passed them by, rushing to the scene of the incident.
In the S.H.I.E.L.D. office, Nick stared gloomily at the footage of the Golden Gate Bridge being destroyed. His phone rang, and Captain America's voice came through on the other end.
"You were right, Nick, I apologize for doubting you before, but this Tony has completely lost his mind. I'm on my way to the scene now, please send a rescue team immediately. I'll keep updating you on the situation."
"Thank you, Captain, the convoy is on its way," Nick's voice was particularly low. "Soon, another batch of battle armors will arrive to assist, another batch of Iron Men, but under the control of a familiar hero, Iron Man. Be careful to distinguish."
"Although I'm not sure what's going on, I'll do that."
After hanging up the phone, Stark's face appeared on the computer in front of Nick.
"Codename Eagle's Nest," Stark began, "I just found some information on how he made his battle armor. It appears that he used some kind of mysterious biological material. The Osborn Group might have some knowledge about this."
"I'll contact Old Osborn," without saying anything further, Nick cut off the communication. But before he could call Osborn, Osborn called him first.
"What the hell is going on, Nick Fury, has Iron Man gone mad? Has your Avengers Alliance finally lost control?" Osborn was downright cursing in his present state, "Was attacking my medical research center in San Francisco not enough? Does he want to destroy the whole of San Francisco?"
"Cool down," Nick said tersely. He knew that the biological material of the White Can's armor might be related to the Symbiont, so he got straight to the point, "Give us your research data on those mud-like alien creatures."
"In your dreams."
"Then wait for your 6 billion US dollars invested in San Francisco, along with the city, to turn into ashes."
"You..."
Bruce turned the car around as quickly as possible and headed towards the Golden Gate Bridge. Although the rush hour was over, the bridge was still heavily trafficked. The blast from the mechas had sent many cars into the water. An immediate rescue was necessary.
Bruce arrived at the scene quickly. As soon as he got out of the car, he saw Captain America leading a group of superheroes towards the fractured section of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Before Bruce could shout out to him, he remembered that time had been reset and Captain America didn't know him at all at this point.
He didn't waste any more words, but promptly joined the spontaneously formed rescue team with Jane.
Some cars had fallen off the bridge after the collapse, while some lucky ones who hadn't made it onto the bridge in time were stopped at the edge. People rushed out of their cars to help pull the cars hanging over the edge of the bridge back.
Bruce joined in, aware that he lacked the powerful strength of the superheroes and the special equipment of the SHIELD Agents, and couldn't participate in the underwater rescue. But he was capable of helping to pull cars and carry the injured.
Jane initially wanted to follow Bruce but was soon stopped by others. They wouldn't let such a small girl get near the broken edge of the bridge, and Jane didn't dare transform back into Parallax as it could potentially disrupt the superheroes' rescue efforts.
So Jane could only stare anxiously at Bruce's retreating back.
She was nervous because although the disaster had happened in an instant, the battle in the air wasn't over yet. It was clear from above that the mechas were being controlled by two separate Starks.
The mechas controlled by the 'Justice Iron Man' seemed to want to stop the ones controlled by 'Evil Iron Man' from bombing the bridge. However, these mechas were not built for this purpose, and their interception was limited. Missiles and debris from the wrecked mechas were falling unceasingly, sending the crowd running in tears.
'Justice Iron Man', controlling the mechas, looked down at the terrible situation below, clenched his fists and glared at the opposing mechas, "Stop it, or I will punish you!"
"You don't understand anything." The voice from the other side seemed to be even more furious, almost roaring in anger.
"Those ignorant agents meddled with what they shouldn't have. If it weren't for you interfering with me, I wouldn't have to do this! Stop fighting me for control of the mechas!!"
"Dream on! You're trying to use the mecha army that I built to destroy the world, and I won't let you succeed!"
The voice of the 'White Can' sounded close to breaking, "I'm not fucking trying to destroy the world. If you don't let me use the mecha army now, the cosmos will be destroyed!!!"
'Justice Iron Man' looked a bit puzzled, not understanding why his evil counterpart was saying such things. However, he suspected this might be the 'White Can's' sweet talk, since the disaster was caused by this evil counterpart of his. He must do his best to mitigate the terrible consequences.
So he chose not to listen to 'White Can', shut off the communication channel, controlled the mecha army to intercept the opponent's mechas, and fought for control of the weapons and mechas in Stark Group's network.
