Chapter 193: The Adventures of Thunder God Thor (Part 3)_2

Peter, relying on his agile movements and rapid speed, rushed in amidst the chaos, quickly knocked a man unconscious, then dragged him out. After a while, Thor also came out and said, "Is this the man you were looking for? Is this the Bullseye you guys were talking about?"

"No, he's just a small henchman around Bullseye."

"Then why go through all this trouble? Why not just barge in and knock them all down?"

"That won't work, we can't alert them."

As he spoke, Peter noticed that Matt's car had arrived. He said to Thor, "Give me a hand, quick. Let's get him in the car."

"I thought you were a bold warrior who confronts his enemies head-on. I guess I was wrong about you." Thor grumbled, lifting the man's legs as the two of them stuffed him into Matt's car.

"Honestly, I think your plan is a bit tedious. Regardless of what the Hand Union is planning to do, couldn't we just wipe them all out and be done with it?"

"That brings up a question..." Matt asked Thor, "Where is the Hand Union?"

"That..."

"This isn't Asgard," Peter said to Thor. "None of us are princes here, we can't just wave our hands and information lands on our desk. We have to rely on ourselves for everything."

"My brother Loki always handled these things. I don't know his methods, but somehow he always gets the right information."

"And what if one day the information he provides is wrong?"

"He is the God of Mischief. There is nothing he can't figure out."

"God of Mischief? And what if he decides to deceive you?" Peter looked at Thor, who faltered before responding, "Why would he deceive me? We are brothers. There's no benefit from doing so. If we lose in a battle, we both get scolded when we return home."

Matt shook his head and said, "And I thought Peter was childish enough."

"Hey, don't be like that. I've been trying hard to change. I think I've made progress lately. I can handle the target on my own, without your help."

"You find me childish, yet I still play these childish games with you? I am a prince of Asgard!"

"I have commanded countless armies in cosmic battles, and now you want me to fight street thugs in a tiny street in Midgard!"

"Not to mention, we haven't even won yet."

Thor glared at Peter, who met his gaze, then reached out to poke Thor's cheek. Thor grimaced and yelped in pain.

He leaned against the car window, looking at his own cheek, noting the bruise where he had been punched.

"Damn Earthlings!!!"

But Thor's troubles were far from over. When night fell, Peter asked him, "Where do you live? I'll drop you off."

"How am I supposed to know where I live? The guy who brought me here never told me where to go."

"Alright, wait a moment. I'll make a call." Peter picked up his phone to call Steve, but couldn't get through. Peter had no choice but to call Nick.

Thor was rather impatient, saying, "Don't make me see that bald-headed black man again. I can't stand him. Don't treat me like a child. There are plenty of houses here. I can find my own place to stay. Goodbye!"

"Do you have any money? You need money to rent a place on Earth."

"Asgard has the same rule. I found some in the bar. I believe this is your human currency?" Thor pulled out a few banknotes. Peter glanced at them and said, "This amount of money is not enough to rent a house. Let me lend you…"

"I don't need to borrow money from a child like you. I can find work on my own. Don't think I know nothing. The order in Asgard is far better than here."

Having said that, Thor waved his hand and left.

His statement was true. In fact, Asgard's social structure is very similar to Earth's, with taverns, shops, inns, etc. There are also Asgardians working in these places. Though Thor is typically a customer who squanders money and lives lavishly, he also knows the process of finding work, earning money, and renting a place.

However, knowing this does not suffice. Surviving on Earth proved to be much harder than Thor had imagined.

Although Nick had helped him obtain an ID--a driver's license--Thor neither knew how to drive nor how to ride a bus, thus he had to walk to look for work.

Unfortunately, the place where he parted ways with Peter was Hell's Kitchen. Where would he find decent work here? He had checked out all the stores on one street, and most store owners did not even wait for him to enter before pointing a gun at him and ordering him to leave, clearly mistaking him for a member of the Mob trying to rob them.

After much effort, he finally found a restaurant that was hiring and willing to hire him. But Thor was completely clueless about modern restaurant equipment, and having never performed such tasks before, he managed to break several plates and was swiftly fired by the boss.

And so, on the first day of his independent life on Earth, the noble Prince of Asgard, the future ruler of the Nine Major Kingdoms, ended up sleeping on the streets.

Fortunately, Thor was not like most princes. He was not pompous. After all, during war, it was common to sleep outdoors and occasionally skip meals. If he couldn't manage it on the first day, he would try again the next.

After facing rejection for several days, Thor finally began to understand how things worked in Hell's Kitchen. Thanks to his powerful physique, he found a job as a warehouse labourer.

The job paid weekly, so Thor quickly received his first paycheck. He was practically in tears. The consecutive rejections not only damaged his spirit but made his life extremely difficult. He was broke and powerless. He had to go to work hungry and frequently slept on benches. He had to rely on his absolutely righteous spirit for warmth. If he weren't an Asgardian, he would have surely starved to death by then.

Finally, having received his first paycheck, Thor was finally able to rent a place of his own.

He also realized that Hell's Kitchen was not a good place. It was hard for outsiders to fit in here, so he moved closer to the edge of the district, into a low-cost apartment with cheap rent, and rented an old apartment there as his home.

On the very first day he moved in, Thor noticed that a new neighbour had also just moved in next door.

At first, he didn't care. But on the first night, his new neighbour made a lot of noise, at times hammering the wall and at others, banging on the floor. It kept Thor awake all night.

The situation didn't change on the second day. On the morning of the third day, Thor felt compelled to visit his new neighbour to find out what was going on.

"Hello, I'm Thor, your neighbour. You were..."

The man who answered the door looked quite exhausted. Just as Thor was about to continue, he saw the man convulse, cover his mouth, and rush to the side of the sink to vomit profusely.

"Um... are you okay?" Thor peered in to ask.

The man stumbled back, holding onto the doorframe for support as he said:

"I'm fine… Hello, my name is Eddie. Eddie Brock."
