Lysandra's face turned pale as she quickly stepped back, bowing her head in submission. Madam Vadal then turned to Fenrir and his companions, her tone softening as she addressed them. "I apologize for her behavior. She is... impulsive."
Fenrir waved off her apology, his smirk returning. "No harm done, Madam Vadal. I trust our arrangement will proceed smoothly from here."
Madam Vadal inclined her head. "It will. Safe travels, Fenrir."
Once Fenrir and his party were gone, Lysandra couldn't hold back her frustration. "Why did you let them go?" she demanded, pacing the lair. "We could have dealt with them!"
Madam Vadal's gaze bore into Lysandra, silencing her with a single look. "I just saved your life, Lysandra. Do you truly not understand that?"
Lysandra frowned but remained silent, her defiance slowly melting into confusion.
