Chapter 4: hunting time

Rodney set off to go hunting using the built in map that would give the user a general description of where there could potentially be a beast roaming.

Just like the gamers have a rank, the beasts also had rankings and groups.

Level 1 to 5 are classified under the basic tier ,6 to 10 are classified under the intermediate tier, 11 to 15 are classified under the advanced tier, 16 to 20 are classified under the ruler tier, then there's the lord tier, demi-god tier,god tier and elemental tier.

Rodney made his way moving from the towns square to where his map showed him there could potentially be a free roaming beast. After a while of walking and stealth mode whenever he heard a foreign sound.

Meanwhile a certain someone had again spotted him at the towns square

" How the...how did he get here before me? " pink rose questioned but soon threw that thought to the side as she him running off again.

"This time I won't lose you again"..she claimed..

As rodney arrived in the forest, he scouted around with his map and found where the low tier beasts were. They were marked green on the map, while the intermediate tier were in purple colour and the tier from advanced upward was marked red.

He laid down behind a bush, carefully picking his spot and observing the area for any stronger beast in the vicinity as that could spell trouble for him. His eyes suddenly locked on something. Right now in his sight was a single boar grazing calmly.

Just before jumping out to attack the beast ..

"what you doing?"

"Aaahhhh"he screamed in fear "you startled me and also my prey" he said, looking at non other than pink rose, who had successfully tracked him.

The young boar heard his scream and was now making a run for it, he got up and ran after it 

"Running won't solve your problems you know" she shouted and followed him in chasing down the boar.

Rodney managed to trap the kid boar in a tight corner and the boar turned around and decided to attack instead.

It snuffed out and stomped it's feet on the floor then dashed forward at rodney.

"This was not the plan"...

[Would you like to purchase a rusty sword?]...a notification popped up.

[Cost:30 gold coins]

"Yes!" And little blocks began to form into the shape of a sword in his hand slowly until it was finally complete and the boar was now in a striking range. Rodney sidestepping the boar then quickly grabbing its neck made quick work of it as he repeatedly went for a stab till it stopped moving.

Rodney removed his sword from the boars neck and proceeded to carve out the core of the beast.

[Young boar killed]

[Boar's tusk obtained]

[70 exp gained]

[exp:70/100]

And the dead body vanished.

"Not bad...I for one thought you were only good at running" Pink rose said as she had watched everything that just happened.

" And how did you manage to get the tusk out...I mean, I didn't see you carving that out"...she asked looking at Rodney clearly waiting for a response

The feature rodney was  experiencing was only available for him.

"I don't know...I'm just as clueless. so now tell me why you've been following me all day"? rodney asked.

"Uhm...just looking for a partner to go hunting with...and it won't be a bad idea making a friend along with that, right?" Pink rose replied

"No but am not one known for working with people"rodney replied as he walked past her.

"I'll be seeing you around....." she said with a smile as she watched him walk away.

In the real world a meeting was being held in a high tower with almost eighty floors. The hall where many parents and adults gathered was getting more and more noisier.

"Calm down people, I understand your problem and it's time someone stood up. If you vote me for mayor, together we'll find  more about the whereabouts  of our kids and the people echoed in unison "yay".

There were two contender's for the position of mayor. Number 1 was the person who just gave a speech, Mr rogers. The ceo of the ..."Wayne Inc" ..and the founder of the game "the heat".

He was an average heighted man with a light brown hair.

Number 2 is the current mayor, Mr Josh. A chubby man with a brown moustache with signs of grey hairs on it and on his head, grey hair which made him look old with the wrinkles on his forehead.

 Mr Josh approached the podium and gave his own speech "I think we can all agree that a lot has been happening and a lot needs to be done in this regards, vote me as mayor for the second tenure and I promise to get to the root of all that has been occurring..the people need someone that can hear the cries of the people and provide their needs.." he said.

"He's just trying to cover up for being a horrible mayor"..

"vote him out!!!, He's too sad and lonely to realise the only thing that matters to us right now is finding our missing kids".

A man dressed in a black suit came on stage and said ..." We have heard from the two candidates, please do cast your votes and anticipate the announcement of results by two o'clock in the afternoon today"...stepping down the podium and leaving the others to cast their votes.

In the back of the the building were two men conversating. "Do you think this plan will work?" one of the men said.

"It will work ...trust the boss, attaining the mayor seat will give him unrivalled Powers within the city." the other said with a weird grin on his face.
