CHAPTER 3

Due to the sudden attack from Dark Tale, everyone at the Royale Hall made a run for their dear lives, in fear of her returning again.

Jessica, Faith, and Bella were taken away by their guards and far from that area.

No one wanted to be around that area, except for the authorities, who gathered around that spot to make investigations.

"Detective Conan, we've gotten everyone away from here. What do you intend on doing now?" An inspector had asked the detective.

Detective Conan, a highly skilled detective in the country. He was invited down to the city after Dark Tales numerous attacks on different events that holds writers.

Since the people were unable to handle someone like Dark, they called Conan over, hoping he could provide them with a solution.

Conan walked into the now deserted Hall. With chairs and other things scattered about.

His eyes scanning all the area, as he asked the inspector following him from behind, "Can you describe this demon to me?"

"Well, I don't know where to start, but I can give you a tip," He said.

The inspector began his description on Dark Tale while Conan kept on walking. He stops at a spot that showed a flaming mark on the floor.

This got Conan's interest.

"And when I say white skin, I mean she's just white like a ghost."

"This Hall has a footage, right?" Conan asked, lifting his gaze to the ceiling to look for a surveillance camera.

"Yeah, it does," The inspector answered.

"I guess we'll be needing that then. I want the footage of what happened here at the event. Maybe there'll be a clue in getting that demon," Conan said, showing his desire to hunt down Dark.

Meanwhile, Matthew and Chi-Chi where rushing into their apartment.

A worried Matt had to grab Chi-Chi away from the Hall, after their encounter with Dark Tale. It felt so scary to him.

"Put me down!" Chi-Chi ordered Matt when they arrived home.

He had her hanging on his shoulder like a sack. But when he stepped in and she continued to yell at him, Matt doesn't hesitate to dump her hard to the couch.

"Ouch! Be careful!"

"You're the one who said I should drop you!" Matt raised his voice at Chi-Chi, leaving her surprised.

"Why are you angry now? I only said you should put me down, " She asked, feeling unhappy with the mood Matt was in.

But Matt couldn't stop feeling scared and angry. He bursts out at Chi-Chi, warning her not to repeat what she did.

"You would have killed yourself! What was the need to act like some kind of hero to save those girls?!" He roared.

Chi-Chi couldn't utter a word but stare at her cousin with sadness in her eyes.

"Yes, they where in danger, but you are no different from them! If anything had happened, do you think those ungrateful girls will do anything?"

"They are not ungrateful, they are my idols."

"Yeah, idols my foot. Will an idol steal a fan's prize?" Matthew scoffed, tossing his phone to the couch.

Hearing him, Chi-Chi could understand why he's mad.

"Are you still thinking about the award ceremony? Look Matt, you heard what the judges said. There was a mistake in the..."

"That's a big lie, Chi-Chi!" He yelled out, causing his little cousin to shiver.

Matt sees the fear in her eyes and carefully calms himself down.

"Chi-Chi, I'm sorry," He apologized, sitting right next to her.

"Whatever happened during that ceremony, wasn't right and unfair to you. I can bet it with you that you won that award, not Bella Rust or whatever she calls herself," Matthew said, showing his seriousness.

But Chi-Chi didn't care. She just didn't want to get into a fight with the ones she adore.

"Just forget about it, Matt. It's in the past now. I'm just glad that you saved me from that demon's attack," She said, taking hold of his hand.

Matt looks at his cousin's face and sees her smiling out to nothing. He didn't want to say anything again about the award, but more on something.

"This Dark Tale..."

"Huh?" Chi-Chi looked at him.

"Can you tell me how it all started?" He asked.

Chi-Chi agreed to do so.

"Well, you see... It all started around last year November. There was a ceremony taking place that day, and every writer, including my idols, were present."

"Did you go? " Matt asked.

"Me? Nah! I was just too scared to show up, so I stayed back," She said, giggling.

Matt let's out a curve and tells Chi-Chi to proceed further.

She goes on to tell him how Dark Take suddenly appeared on stage like a magician, threatening to wipe out all writers that think they can be better than her.

"We thought it was part of the ceremony, but when she attacked a girl, calling upon nightmare to overshadow her, every saw who she truly was. A Demon!" Chi-Chi described.

"I saw what she did. She used her demonic power to summon a python to attack most of the writers, almost swallowing them all. If not for the authorities that intervened, I bet a lot of writers would be dead by now," Chi-Chi saud, shivering due to the memories.

This left Matt confused.

"Attacking Writers? This is the first time I'll ever hear such a thing."

"It's crazy, right? I have been telling myself the same thing as well. That Lady is a demon!"

"We... I don't think we should refer her to that," Matt said, leaving Chi-Chi gazing at him.

"And why shouldn't we? You clearly saw what she tried to do to me today. She almost chopped my head off, if you hadn't intervened," Chi-Chi reminded Matt.

But Matt still stood on his words.

"Think about it Chi-Chi. Why will someone come out from nowhere and start attacking writers? What will she gain from it?"

"Em hello? She said she wants to be the only awesome writer in the world. That's why she's called Dark Tale! Where did you keep your brain?" She poked Matt on the head, rising to her feet.

"I'm heading to the kitchen to see if there's something to eat. I'm already starving," Chi-Chi said, exiting the room.

Matthew still didn't feel satisfied about Dark Tale's story. For him, every villain has a story yo tell.

"Something must have sparked her to start all these rampage," He believed.

.

An hour later, Matt is heading back to the apartment block with a Chinese takeout. After Chi-Chi had stepped into the kitchen to look for food, she returned back telling him there's nothing.

Since they were both tired to cook, Matthew decided to head out to the next street and get them something.

"This will heal the hunger," He said, approaching the entrance believe the large building.

"I still can't take my mind off that ceremony. Chi-Chi won that prize, not that Lady. But I don't know how to prove it," He groaned, feeling upset that he couldn't help his cousin out.

"Gosh! If she had that money in her hold, I would have used it to solve a lot of things," He sighed, getting to the lift.

Before he could push the button, Matthew felt a presence.

He stopped and turned around, staring out in the dark to see who was behind him.

But no one.

"Was it the wind ?" He wondered, planning on turning over, when his eyes caught something at the corner, where the apartment garage is at.

A dark shadow with dark cloud was seen by Matt. The sight of the dark cloud alone, sent chills down Matthew's spine.

He didn't know if he should proceed further into the lift or check it out.

"Don't do what they do in the movies! Don't do it! " He yelled in his head, but eventually gave in.

"Damn it! I want to check it out, " He grumbled, carefully going after the dark cloud he spotted.

Matt sneaks into the garage and discovered it's quiet. He feels he has made a mistake by assuming things.

Laughing at himself, he said, "Matt, you can be silly. For a second I thought it was... "

As soon as he turned over, Matt is frozen to the ground with fear.

His eyes came in contact with Dark Tale., standing before him.
