CHAPTER 98

Diego arrived at the warehouse, located on the outskirts of the city, closer to the airport - a thirty-five-minute drive through the winding roads. As he entered the warehouse, he was met with dim lighting, the only source of illumination coming from a single bulb suspended at the center of the room, casting flickering shadows on the walls.

A man sat directly beneath the lit bulb, tied to a chair with his hands bound to the backrest by thick ropes. His legs were chained together, and his head was raised, eyes closed, as if in a state of serenity.

Despite being restrained, he appeared unhurt, dressed in a vintage shirt and denim jeans, giving the impression of a free man. However, the chains binding him to the chair told a different story.

Three other men lurked in the shadows, and Diego noticed them. He wasn't here for them, and besides, they were just here on his order, so he had no use for them now.
