Faolán allowed Rafe to take care of it, so that he would have some improvements in the human body, such as sharper vision, including night one. Since they didn't have much light there and the fucking flashlight wasn't working propperly, Faolán would have to walk around in the dark with a small child on his arms.

Rafe felt that child was like a part of him. He was surprised, but convinced that this was nothing more than a trick of the mountain, he ignored the feeling.

At every step, caution was required. He stomped lightly before he could stomp normally, after all, and if there was some kind of trap, he could defend himself or even avoid it. And he couldn't be more right.

The first of these was the floor falling off. He felt he had stepped on some sort of mechanism.
