Chapter 37

Alanna went out to lunch with Tyr, feeling like she was wasting her time. She hoped he had good news for her, so, that stupid lunch wouldn't be so terrible to endure. 

"Have you talked to your father?" she asked as he approached her, at the entrance to the building. He didn't like not being treated more affectionately. She seemed to be dealing with business, not him. But, he swallowed his dissatisfaction.

"Let's make ourselves comfortable in the restaurant and then we'll talk about this matter, okay?" From that answer, Alanna already knew it wasn't good news.

They walked to a nearby restaurant. She wasn't interested in straying too far from the company, or in Tyr's presence. Once they were seated at one of the tables at the back of the room, Alanna folded her hands on top of the table and looked at Tyr seriously.

"And then?"
