"Moon goddess? Selene?" Alanna asked.

"Yes, that one. That's what originated the legend about werewolves transforming in the light of a full moon. We get stronger during that phase of the lunar cycle, that is true; but we don't transform only during it. We can transform any time we want, when we become connected with our inner wolf."

"Hmm. Interesting. Can you transform, then? Like, right now?" she asked, looking into Zander's eyes. She wanted to know if he was going to show himself to her, before Faolán did. She knew something about how those 'wolves' worked when it came to females, especially their mates. 

"I'm sure Faolán will want to be the first wolf you'll see." Zander answered.

"And why is that?" Alanna questioned.

"As I said, you are our 'queen'. We call it Luna. And Faolán Quinn is our Alpha. He won't want another male to show himself to you before he does."
