Chapter 129

They could smell nothing. No clue of Weylyn or Ciara. They kept going and going, further into the woods. Faolán told Zander he had to go away, to rescue the kids. After all, Dante and Siegfried, along with the Elders, were just a distraction. It was all to have their kid kidnapped. 

Faolán and Alanna started to run. They went through Siegfried's territory and, surprisingly, nothing happened. No one tried to stop them. No wolf came from nowhere to attack them. Nothing at all. 

"Something is really weird." Faolán said. "Shouldn't this territory be waiting for us?" 

"No. I think they want us to go to the mountain." Alanna answered. "Well, Cha wants it. Maybe Dane and the others do not know his motives." 

"Do you think so?" 

"Yes. Why would Dante want to help someone to be greater than him? More powerful? He is the one who believes everything deserves it. He would never help like this if he would still be second place to anyone.'"
