Chapter 15: Bluish Soul

In the courtyard, the morning sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a warm glow on the space. A small table and chairs were placed there, creating a cozy spot for meals and moments of relaxation. The edges of the courtyard were adorned with bushes and plants, adding a touch of greenery to the peaceful environment.

Amidst all this, an image of a young boy carving pieces of wood could be seen. The boy had dark grey hair like the night sky, and green eyes that reflected the nature around him. This was Mirage, who was crafting hand-made furnitures by carving wood.

It had been two days since their arrival to the town, and a day since the children were able to find a new home under the lead of Achlys. The house they were given by the mayor wasn't very special. It was a quaint, single-story structure with a small courtyard that bordered the edge of the town.

While their new house wasn't special by any means, everybody was happy to be able to live in a home they could call their own. Of course, the house belonged to the town in paper, but since it was already abandoned and emptied out, it was lent to Achlys by the mayor.

The mayor also provided some basic furniture such as tables, chairs, and beds, Mirage still wanted to make some more like couches or desks to fill in the house.

After moving to their now home, the first thing the party did was to prepare a small feast to celebrate their new home. While the children were too young to understand it, Achlys got them to have fun and celebrate together.

Not much later, Achlys gathered Mirage and others, and wanted to ask for their assistance on naming the new member of their family, the little half elf baby. Since they were in a rush to traverse to this town, there was no suitable time to pick a name before. Now that everything was settled, Achlys decided to ask for the children's help in picking a name for the little baby.

"Claude" was mentioned by Betty, whereas Zena didn't understand the difference between boy and girl names yet, so she wanted to name the baby "Sallie". Mirage didn't want to join in on the fun, so he just supported the name "Claude" instead.

Since the baby was a boy, and couldn't be named a girl name, Achlys also voted for Betty's selected name for the baby, and the baby would now be called Claude. Unfortunately, Zena found it hard to say that name, so she just decided to call the baby Clay for now.

A day after their celebration dinner, Mirage was now working under the hot sun to craft some wooden furnitures. He could be doing this inside the house, but he wanted to stay outside to increase his tolerance for exposure to heat and light. While there was no specific reason, Mirage decided to stop taking short cuts after obtaining his falna.

According to what he seemed to understand, one's falna, or rather status values would grow through hard work and suffering. To level-up, one would need to exceed their limits, and breakthrough the "bottleneck". While there wasn't a way for him to directly seek adventures now, he wanted to prepare himself ahead of time for anything that can happen in the future.

The reason Mirage asked for Achlys's falna was to get stronger. He wanted to get stronger to protect his current family that he had finally obtained after a lifetime of loneliness. His reason to seek power was to protect, and he would surely not give up halfway through.

While he was crafting wooden furnitures, he was also training his dexterity and endurance. It wasn't as if he had given up on flexibility training either, but now that he could see his status and development, he was able to direct himself to the path of growth he deemed appropriate.

Mirage's skill, Caesicius Anima had been boosting his learning speed ever since he acquired it. Even if he wasn't actively learning anything, the thoughts within his mind were getting more and more organized, and he was able to figure things out that he had heard of before but couldn't understand.

Such as the meaning of the name of his skill, Caesicius Anima. After he obtained this skill, and focused on the words in his mind for some time, Mirage was able to cross-reference his memories from his past life and figure out the translation of his skill. The words mirrored the Latin language from his past life, and directly translated to "Bluish Soul".

While he couldn't make sense of what this could mean, Mirage figured out that something that is related to his souls must definitely have some connections with the fact that he is a reborn person.

Acquiring this skill also refreshed his already existing memory, making him clearly be able to remember things that occurred even before he obtained the skill. Mirage was worried when he first learned that he was in the world of Danmachi, he was worried that he wouldn't remember all of the important details.

That was no longer a problem thanks to his new skill, which allowed him to remember even the littlest of things that happened in the Danmachi story, such as the character named "Lefiya" being repeatedly re-connect in the main story.

In addition to his perfect memory, his skill also boosted his comprehension speed drastically, making it faster for him to process information within his mind, and thus increasing his reaction speed as well.

Mirage figured out that while this skill of his seemed to be more fitting for magic users, it still provided a significant boost to his dexterity and agility growth as well. He still couldn't test out its effectiveness regarding magic, since he didn't have one yet.

Still, the fact that many characters from the original story only went down after running out of spirit/mind helped him believe that this skill of his, which increased his spirit recovery speed, would more than double in value the instance he obtains the ability to use magic.

Oh God, a chapter without any dialogues but only narration. Hopefully nobody hates it...
