The way down wasn't a problem after a rest where I equipped the salamander wool. Should have done that before the fight, but I normally don't use it in the early floors, as I don't want it to be damaged by a pair of claws or the like. Would have saved my back from a light burn this time though.
After a night on floor 18, where Ryuu pays respect to her fallen familia, we went back up. Luckily enough we came back relatively fast and went back to the Hostess of Fertility.
I excused myself by saying I needed rest, what wasn't a lie, but it wasn't my priority, but before I advanced, I thought if I advance here all the others would still know something is wrong as my god didn't enter up here.
How would they know? They are all ex-adventurers with enough skill to differentiate between levels.
So the next day I went out to find a place to 'Level Up'.
I don't know many places, but I knew the church and that it is empty as Hestia descends a few years back.
So I used the morning to search for it in the west district and found it after a good hour. I entered the ruin and go to the crypta. I thought there would be nice paintings or the like, but what greeted me was four stonewalls.
Well either way I sit down and use the option to level up.
I felt strenght flowing through my veins into my muscles, skin and bones.
It was a nice feeling that I couldn't compare to something I felt before.
Then I opened my 'Status':
Name: Alexandros
Level: 2
Basic Abilities:
Strenght I-0
Endurance I-0
Dexterity I-0
Agility I-0
Magic I-0
Development Abilities:
(Choose)
Skills:
- 'Status': By saying the name of the skill, the user bends the light to see his own Falna
- 'Update': By saying the name of the skill the user can update the Falna with accumulated exelia once a day
- 'Level Up': If the user has accomplished a feat that gets hero exelia he can level up if he wants by saying the name of the skill. He can then choose one unlocked Development Ability.
- 'Fire Resistance': Passive ability that ignores normal fire and its damage. Abnormal fire has a decreased effect on the user.
- 'Enchant': Gives the object an increased attribute. User has to see what changes can be made.
Magic:
None
Blessings:
Aether: Gives the user the skills 'Status', 'Update' and 'Level Up'
???: Gives the user the skills 'Fire Resistance' and 'Enchant'
Let's see what changed. First of all my level increased to 2. My basic abilities are reset with the gained attributes as a foundation. In the category of development abilities is now a button to 'Choose'. Then there is the Blessings. The god of my old one was revealed as Aether and a new one appeared which is a little irritating to be honest.
Aether told me I would gain the Blessings of the greek gods back then.
I first thought of Hephaestus, but wouldn't I get the blacksmith ability then?
Well it should come to light in the future like the other one did.
So I push the button to choose my development ability.
Another screen appeared with 5 options:
- Abnormal Resistace
-Chain Attack
-Hunter
-Spearman
-Blacksmith
Now what I could see directly was all but one are alphabetically in order except the last one, so I really think the Blessing had a part in it.
But it was also the first I threw out as an option.
Abnormal Resistace is a basic one because of the moth on the 7th floor so if you don't skip it you would get this option. It ain't bad, but the others aren't either. But since I didn't want to be a blacksmith that one left before Abnormal Resistace. Chain Attack is a rare ability that Bell got later. It belongs to a fighting style I sometimes used. To my understanding it gets more power for continuous attacks, that would be reset if you don't Attack in a certain time frame or got hit by an attack.
Hunter isn't common, but still an option most adventurers who later got above level 3 had. In contrast to the two before, I still find it an option, because it is only available as the first ability.
Spearman is a basic for my main weapon, but could be found later. At this point I find Hunter and Abnormal Resistace better, but I can't decide to fast.
Chain Attack would influence my fighting style and I don't like it at this point of time. Abnormal Resistace can be used for poison or curses, but the immediate effect can be covered through my 'Fire Resistace' for the middle floors, although some monsters after the 18th floor use poison. So my final decision was between Hunter and Spearman.
As I could only gain Hunter now, I choose it.
With that I completed the process and was now a Level 2 adventurer.

Sorry for the delay, I needed to work longer today.
Hope I can avoid that in the future,
if writing brings in some money.
Hope you understand and you enjoy the chapter.
