Yesterday, my husband showed me a stage play script written by his late father.
My father-in-law loves to write stage plays, and he produced them all by himself. Despite having Hansen's Disease (people with no knowledge of the disease call it leprosy), he never let anyone look down on him.
He and his siblings became orphan when he was still at the age of three. Yet, when he grew up at the age of nine, he was the one providing food for them. He worked hard selling banana cue and whatsoever he could sell to put food on their table and send all of them to school, while the rest of the family members did their part in some other ways.
He sent himself to a college by taking a university's satellite class since it was given free at that time and graduated as a pastor four years after.
He studied and graduated to become a social worker while working after marriage.
After realizing his inadequacy in English, he took a course majoring in English while teaching college students. He was quite old at this time.
But he was already writing plays after he became a pastor. Not for a living but to convey his heart to the people. I've read some of his writings but the one my husband handed to me totally made me sit still in the theater of my mind and watch a drama series in play.
Back to what transpired yesterday.
After my husband showed me the script, he asked me if I can write a book out of it. I directly said yes without any shred of doubt in my heart.
So, I'll be writing two stories right now. My father-in-law's story and my own.
I will be dedicating this story to my late father-in-law. The title may simply be 'Lord Frederiech' or maybe something else.
I think I'm putting more burdens to myself and stretching the delay of the book I'm writing. But, the story is utterly good that I will regret not writing it as a book for everyone to read.
This morning, my husband praised me for easily finishing the plot and a new concept of the story but I didn't notice it until now. Sorry, my love.
It was because my mind was focused on what my father-in-law wrote. He was using the life of King Herod in the bible and it was a sad ending.
In the one I'm making, the focus of the story will be another person. It will all about someone who became a friend and advisor of the king. The one advising him from straying from the path. I won't be writing spoilers here.
Same way, I'll finish a whole arc first before publishing. I'm writing a faster rate this time because the outlines of the two stories are ready.
I'll be bringing out the story-teller inside me but I also want to present the person I knew as the great story-teller by heart, who wrote those great plays that touched lives for years, my father-in-law, the late Rev. Luciano B. (I will only disclose his full name in the book since he is a famous person here.)
I better go back to my writing and publish as soon as possible or else readers will think I'm only boasting here without results.
Till next time.
Have a good and fruitful day. 🤩
To the readers: If you have a good name for a king's advisor, I'll be happy to hear it. The name itself will be the title of the story. I'm not so good when it comes to naming characters so, please help me. If the name you suggested is chosen, I will surely give the credit to you.
