Chapter 6

The next few weeks were hectic, we kept training and our first mission was for soon and we would be told what it will be about today. I was still banned with Luke of the dinning room but that didn't stop us from pulling pranks every now and then and Sally became our manager/help. We also discovered what was behind the hidden doors: it was lots of papers and really old objects.

"As you all know, your first mission is tommorrow. We will start with something quite easy: You will sabotage a railway and train so that they wont be able to give the serum they inject in children to turn them into THEM. This mission will also tell us if you are trust worthy for the futur." as he kept talking about the mission, i was thinking about all that we had learned in the past few weeks. We all learned how to ride horses and it turned out we all had a gift for it, we also learned how to use weapons and we all had our favourites, Sally prefered to use daggers, Luke swords and I prefered to use a bow and arrows as I didn't trust myself with short range weapons. I was sure i could empale myself or hurt someone on my side. " You will leave at midnight so go to bed early and you will find all what you need in your rooms. Oh, and you will take the horses. Goodnight".

I decided to go and see my half-brother on the way to my room "hey Rob! I just came in to say goodnight and ask you if you were fine", as he is younger he didn't do all the training we did "yes everything is fine. I heared you were going on a mission, can I come with you?" he asked with hope in his eyes.

"You are too young Robert, mabye when you are older, now go to bed or you will want to sleep tomorrow"

Thirty minutes until our departure. We were checking that we all had our equipment. Rope, check; kife supplies, check; small grenades, check: first aid kit, check; and so on... The horses were alredy saddled when we came in the stables. My horse was a beautiful picht black mare named Belle, Luke and Sally both had black stallions named Cobalt and Comanche. I tied my hair quickly in a ponytail. We were all dressed in black and the only source of light as the reflection of light on our weapons. 

When the bell stroke midnight, we set off in a small canter as the railway was about a twenty minute trot from the manor. The train would come at five to one AM.

When we finally arrived, Sally exclaimed enthusiastically "Let's kick some butts!" We chuckeled a bit before tying a big boulder to a horse so we could position it in the middle of the rails.  We tied a net to the trees so we could trap poeple in it.

We hid the horses and took position. Basically, the twins each were hidden on a different side of the rails and i was in a tree. They were supposed to distract the people while I stole the serum and luckily, I knew were to find it. The only thing we needed to do was to wait for the train to come.

"Every body in position?" called Luke.

"yep! One minute till' the train comes. Get your grenades ready and only throw them at the front of the train. I don't want to be killed"was my reply.

"The train is coming"shouted Sally.

As the train approched, I jumped on the roof. I made my way to where I was told the serum would be while Sally and Luke started to throw projectiles to make a diversion. As I came to the right roof window, I checked there was no body, smashed the window and jumped into the train. I heard a loud bang and the train stopping suddenly and I knew that it had hit the boulder. By now, people were screaming and running everywhere.

"What are you doing, jumping in a train and dressed like that?" a woman rudely asked me.

"Oh you know, just chillin' and living my life. Nice hair by the way!" with that, my fist met her gut quite harshly as she let out a weird noise that I identified as a scream.

"Ma'am, what happened? Are you all right?" a big, imposing secrurity man hurried over to where we were.

"Oh Mister! It's horrible, there was this towering man who came and kicked that nice woman. He went this way." I invented while pointing in the opposite direction of where I was supposed to go. As I watched that stupid security man running behind no one, I laughed to myself .

"Goodnight ma'am! And I am sorry. It was nice meeting you!" and with that I knocked her unconcious and hid her body under a table while silently praying to all the gods I knew for the fact that there was nobody.

Thankfully, the door was unlocked so it was easy to go inside. I just had to knock out an untrained boy who was supposed to look after the serum.

I started looking for the serum until I found it. It was in a metal and glass case. I found the key to open the box in one of the pockets of the guard and opened the box. I then took the recipient which contained the serum and put it safely in my bag. The serum was a deep orange shade with black dots so I put water with orange dye with sesame seeds in an other recipient which I put in the box before closing it.

If going in the train was easy, going out was on other story. The only way to go out, was by the window so I opened one, slipped throw it and closed it silently.

Security guards were everywhere trying to find where the stones which Sally and Luke were throwing came from.

Luckily, nobody saw me so I rushed quickly in the forest so I could hide from them.

Sally and I were just waiting with the hotses for Luke but he was being chased by some of the security guys.

"Sally, try to get to Luke, he wont be able to run for long, he is tiring quickly. Take his horse too. I'll try to hold them off." with that, I steared my horse forwads, took my bow and started shooting on Luke's chasers to hurt them.

Luke was safe on his horse and I had managed to slow down the security so we took off in a small canter towards the meeting point which was in the middle of the forest.

" John was supposed to be here at least an hour ago. And we are here since thirty minutes. Do you think he is all right? And what is that AWFULL smell?" complained Luke.

"Luke's right. It sorts of smells like THEM."added Sally.

A horse suddenly emerged from the trees and started bolting towards us. He also looked frightened.

"Guys, look there is some blood on him. I think that John was here but got killed by THEM. That would explain the horrible smell."whisperd Sally, her voice full of terror.

Suddenly, a scream filled with pain could be heard.

"I'll go check from where it comes from. Go and calm the horse" I ordered. As I was designed the 'chief'of the mission, they knew that they couldn't complain.

All that I knew was that we had a terrorized horse with no rider, a missing person and someone agonizing in the forest.

It didn't go as planned. Not at all.

I went towards the source of the scream and I wasn't ready for what I saw next:

There was one of THEM next to the defigurated and shreded body which could and probably was John. We could see his heart teared from his body resting peacfully on the wet grass, his arms and legs were at a weird angle and his lungs were half in - half out of his rib cage. The sight really wasn't beautiful to see.

The monster THEM was changing back in his human form and had a look of pure terror on his face. When it finished turning back into its normal body, I could see that it was a girl around my age. She turned around and saw me.

"I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened. They injected us this serum or I don't know what. It turned us into these horrible creatures, I think that it turned us into THEM." the mysterious girl whispered. She then fell on the ground and started crying.
