It's been 7 months since I started my training and all things considered, it has been both the worst 7 months and the best 7 months of my life. The hell-like training regime my father has had me on is possibly the toughest training any 4-year-old has ever been through. As a matter a fact thinking on it, it definitely is the hardest training any 4-year-old has ever done. I don't think it's possible for the training to be any hard. While the training may be painful it isn't anything compared to the mind-destroying pain of the cultivation. After several weeks of trying to overcome the pain, to defeat it, I have come to the conclusion that it isn't possible. there are only 2 outcomes when it comes to this cultivation technique and that is either have your mind destroyed by the pain so you turn in on yourself, basically becoming a vegetable. Or you can take the route I did, and embrace the pain, become one with it, drown in the pain that is so intense it is nearly pleasurable. now that isn't to say that I have become a masochist who wants to be beaten and feel pain, quite the contrary I have simply learned to take that pain and harness it into more training. By learning the areas that are the most sensitive I can learn to better fight and aim for those vitals that will incapacitate my opponents the fastest without necessarily killing them. Because the job of a superhero isn't to kill all the villains but instead to capture and rehabilitate those that can be, and lock away forever those that can't be saved.
Now when it comes to Qi I have gathered another 20 Qi, so I am on my way to breaking through to the second stage but it will take a while. But what really makes me happy is my strength and endurance increases. when it comes to strength i can deadlift about 150kg(330lbs), bench press 100kg(220lbs) and squat 175kg(385lbs). now when it comes to strongman type hero numbers, this isn't even enough to make them put in the effort but for a 4 now 5 years old I feel like its outstanding. for the endurance, I can run a marathon sub 2 hours, and for durability, I can take an arrow launched from a traditional bow and shrug it off. Anything faster or stronger than that and I choose to dodge rather than take the hit. finally, when it comes to the body cultivating technique, I'm around 4% into my body reform and you can tell.
looking in the mirror I see a child that looks to be around the age of 9-10 but is really only 5, with a face that has lost its body fat, I have a jawline that should definitely not be on a child with bright blue eyes white skin and dark brown hair that is kept short and neat. standing around 137cm(4'6") and weighing 34kg(75lbs) all muscle. I look like a child version of some Greek god, and honestly, it's a little weird. I have a sculpted torso, legs, and arms. because of this, I choose to wear looser long sleeve shirts and pants to cover most of my body so I don't get strange looks from people on the streets. honestly the only time we took a trip to the beach and I took my shirt off was very disturbing. the looks I got from the women around me were like a pack of hungry wolves just walked into an all you can eat steak house and they haven't eaten in weeks.
Still looking in the mirror I hear my mom call for me from downstairs so I head down to see what all the commotion is about.
"David come down and hurry up "
"coming mom... what's all the fuss about?"
"it's your birthday silly and your father and I want you to open your present. i know you didn't want to have a party and you insisted that we not get you a present. But we're the parents and we do what we want *hmpf* now open your present!"
looking at the table I see a big box on it wrapped in bright red wrapping paper. Opening it I expect to see something fitting a child of my age, maybe a trampoline, maybe one of those ridable toy cars, those are always cool. But instead what I see when I open the box is a massive 22kg(50lbs) war hammer. its all-metal, probably steel, about 3 feet long blunt on one end and a massive spike on the other. it would be the perfect size for a full-size strong man to wield with one arm but for a child of my size, it's perfect to use with both hands. Doe-eyed I look at my parents.
"thank you! it's perfect!"
*haha* "I knew you would love it, son, now let's go train you in how to use that weapon!"
" Yeah, LET'S GO, I'M GOING TO SMASH SOME SKULLS WOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
I soon found out that I should not have been that hyped about the training to come. and that naive thought I had about how the training couldn't get any harder. I was wrong, so very, very wrong.
Just a short chapter to introduce the weapon our MC will be using. I went with a hammer because it can be both non-lethal and lethal depending on the end that is used, so it seems perfect for a superhero. Now if you want to see my mental image of the weapon then look up "hans'gar's forgehammer". But please imagine the weapon as all metal and without the fire.
