CHAPTER 7: Deal.

It didn't take Sirin long to figure out that he couldn't get out of the circle, at least not on his own. These people had to let him in.

"What is it that you want humans?" Despite his excitement his voice was clear and demanding. Surely, they wouldn't let him mess around in their world without a price.

"We summoned you to protect this land. Monsters roam around this town and the hunters can't keep up. We ask you to hold them back until the soldiers arrive. Name your price and we will give whatever you want."

Sirin was slightly confused. He was still a hatchling; how could they expect him to be strong enough to fight for them? They would be better off with an older demon.

But still, he could ask for whatever he wanted, and he would get access to this world. He had come this far; it would be a waste to go back now.

"Verry good. Since it's my first time coming to this world, I will go easy on you. Fifty souls, preferably human or from stronger creatures, and I will do all I can within my power to hold the monsters back."

Like this he couldn't be blamed if he failed. Since he said that he would do what he could within his power, not that he would definitely hold the monsters off.

He kind of wanted to ask for more souls, but he wasn't sure if these humans could fulfil a higher demand.

The man in the middle walked up to him and stook out his hand. "Then we have a deal!"

Without hesitation Sirin grabbed the hand. The moment he did he felt a shiver running up his spine. He instinctively knew what this meant. Now that they had both agreed on the terms of the deal, he wouldn't be able to go back on his word. However, the human would still be able to do that, only his soul would automatically belong to Sirin the moment he did.

Sirin grinned from ear to ear as he now stepped out of the circle. All the smells and colours in the room were much more vibrant now that he did.

Suddenly the man turned around and stabbed one of the other humans with a knife that he had hidden in his sleeve. The other people started to scream and tried to stop him, but they were all unarmed.

Sirin did nothing to interfere and just thought of it as odd that this apparent fight to the death was much tamer than the ones he was used to in hell. A few moments later the man was surrounded by five corpses.

"Let this be my first payment. It won't take long before I give you the rest."

The souls of the people he had just killed slowly floated towards Sirin who was amazed by how deals like this wok.

"You have my gratitude and praise, human." He spoke as he grabbed the souls.

The man who had just killed his companions stared in amazement and horror as the demon he just summoned suddenly held five flame like lights in its hands. He hadn't been able to see the souls until Sirin actually touched them.

Not caring about the staring man, Sirin swallowed the souls in one go. They tasted even better than those he had in hell.

Once he was done, he received a notification from the system.

< Five human souls consumed: 6/10000000>

He was a bit disappointed that the quality of the souls didn't make them worth more in the eyes of the system. But that didn't really matter right now. The ability to turn into a human would only be fun after he had freed Amanda. Until then he wouldn't have much use for it.

Or at least that was what he thought until he completely checked the system.

All his basic stats had risen. And that was just from five souls. The other forty-five would probably help him grow stronger as well.

After all was settled Sirin exited the building. The man that was apparently named Jordan, couldn't do much to stop him and it was currently night anyways.

Sirin thought that this world was indeed as beautiful as Amanda described, even if he wasn't sure if this was the word she had come from. The sky was dark, bot hit had a shining circle floating in it that he knew was called the moon. A few glorious white spot hovered above all shining with an equal splendour, the stars.

But the world itself couldn't be dismissed either. In the distance he could see the town that Jordan had talked about.

The houses were lively and warm, some were even decorated with various plants. Countless little lights shone through the windows and the silhouettes of the people that lived there were clearly visible.

Sirin couldn't help but think of how fun it would be to own such a place and its people. If that were to be the case then he wouldn't have to hunt or make deals for souls either, he could just make sure that such a town had a large population and once the people died a natural death, he could just claim their souls. Maybe once he was able to transform in a human, he could start such a town.

He glanced at the human who was now following him. "Demon, it isn't wise to appear in the open like this, the hunters wouldn't be able to tell you apart from the regular monsters."

"My name is Sirin. Try to remember it. And I wouldn't worry about people seeing me."

With that he transformed into his shade form and merged with the shadows, so that he could slip away without even Jordan seeing him.

He would try to kill some monsters and he couldn't have his only connection to this world get killed, or he would be forced to go back to hell a lot earlier than he had planned.

To avoid future confusion. What a soul does to Sirin’s stats isn’t consistent and completely depends on the individual soul. Also give me power stones.
