2. Meetings and disagreements

I could barely sleep through the night, those golden eyes chasing my dream. I didn't have to wait for the alarm this morning. I did my morning routine and left in a hurry.

The day was cold, an icy wind causing the leaves of the trees to fall off the branches and spread across the street, the sky was a gray plate. There was fog, which made it a little difficult to see, but nothing to worry about. I followed the same path I do every day. I think for the first time this year I would be on time.

The track was quiet. I only heard the noise of the car, nothing else. Until the silence is broken by the annoying roar of an engine. I continue to drive normally. The noise becomes louder, the vehicle must have been very close. In the rearview mirror, in the distance, I see a light. It's a motorcycle. Before long she was paired with me. Wait a minute, this has already happened! I tell myself. I look to the side, I can't make out the exact shapes due to the fog. For a moment I feel the same way I felt yesterday when I saw those golden eyes. I want to stop looking, but I can't.

The biker accelerates and disappears. I'm still looking for him all the way, but I keep going for a few meters without seeing anything, until I see a figure in front of the car. I slammed on the brakes and stopped inches from the figure, which was the same bike. The same bike as a few minutes ago and the same bike as yesterday. Black and shiny. And once again his name came to my mind. Simon. It sure was him, but why all this? Until yesterday I had never seen him, and now I couldn't stop thinking about him. And he was behaving in this strange way. Anyway, I had to stop it and not call him. I reversed, dodged the bike and kept going. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw him still standing. I didn't care and continued on my way.

Arriving at school, I parked the car in the usual spot. I didn't see Helen. It was still early for her to be here, in fact it is for anyone to be here.

I walk through the corridors with few students, I leave my backpack in the locker and only take out the physics book. I've always hated this subject and the first half is torture. But, it's life. I walk through the halls. I go up a flight of stairs. I'm walking towards the living room door, until I hear voices inside, I can't recognize who it was. I decide not to get in the way, but I don't leave the door. I get close enough to overhear the conversation.

"What's happening with you? You look very strange," said a feminine voice, sweet and sweet.

"What are you talking about? There's nothing wrong with me, I'm fine," said a male voice. An intimidating tone of voice.

"Do you swear? So why are you distant? Why didn't you wait for us to come today? The woman speaks without raising her voice.

"I wanted to leave early, can't I? Leave me Aurora. "So that's the girl's name. Aurora. I don't remember anyone with that name in my class.

"You don't fool me, Simon. I saw how you looked at that girl yesterday" how did he get here so fast? if I saw him stay there and then I didn't see him pass me.

"I repeat; what are you talking about? Simon seemed to be impatient with the interrogation.

"Isabelle Snow. Have you even introduced yourself to her?" She laughed " Yeah... I see not. But here's your chance. She's listening to us at the door. Let me invite you into the conversation." At that moment I crashed. How did she know I was listening to everything? And why the hell did I stay there?!

I didn't move an inch from where I was. I could hear heels on the floor and the door opened. At last I could see her. Aurora was the blonde girl I saw next to Simon yesterday. A black dress, with a corset. The star still sported around her neck, gleaming like some kind of weapon. Long, wavy blonde hair fell over her pale skin. What held my attention the most were the gray eyes. A piercing gaze as if it could see into my soul, and sparkling like glass.

"Hi," she said with a smile on her face. And I couldn't open my mouth — Well, you can come in now, I'm done. She turned to Simon and said something just moving her lips and left.

I stared at the half-open door. For a moment I remembered my dream. I found myself in the same situation motionless in front of the door. The difference is, I haven't seen the golden eyes… yet. But why was I still standing? I'm not going in to talk to him, I'm going in because I have to, I think.

However, as soon as I touch the door to push it open, it is yanked hard, my body almost toppling forward in fright. And there he was standing in front of me, a black jacket, matching shirt and jeans. But there was something wrong. I couldn't see what I wanted. His eyes. Like this? Why did I want to see his eyes? I must be going crazy. He had his head down.

"Good morning." It was almost impossible to hear his voice.

"Good morning," I replied.

He slung his backpack onto his back, walked past me, and left. I stood still trying to understand it all. I tried to understand what the girl said, what they were talking about, his reaction, but I couldn't. It was all very strange, in fact everything has been very strange.

I walk into the room, sit down, bow my head and close my eyes, trying not to think about anything else.

"Isabelle! Isabelle!" I feel someone shaking my shoulders "Wake up friend! "Oh my God, I slept!" It was Helena shaking me. I lift my head, working up the courage to open my eyes. The room was almost full, but no one seemed to mind my nap.

"My goodness! Did I sleep, Helen?"

"No friend, you died!" she said laughing, at my sleepy face for sure."

"Clown. Has the teacher arrived yet? I ask, trying to erase the remnants of my slip."

"He's coming up the stairs. Why do you think I woke you up like that?"

"Thanks."

The teacher enters, and I focus on the classes. I don't know if it was the scare that Helena gave me, but at no time in class did I think about him, or even see him. Good, I was already worried about that. Time passes quickly, the late afternoon is beautiful, that morning fog had already dissipated. Only the golden sun remained. Golden like the eyes that now stared at me. Yes, there he was, across the street.

That same posture as always, kind of sloppy, leaning on the bike, jacket open and arms crossed. There was only one detail, I mean, there wasn't. His group wasn't there, he was alone. Few were still around, which I found strange. But after today nothing would surprise me anymore. His motorcycle was parked in front of my car.

I went down the steps at the entrance to the school, walked towards the car, it was almost inevitable not to meet his eyes. But I tried. I passed him without even saying hello. Arriving at the car, I feel him looking at me, I'm even embarrassed. I open my backpack and start looking for the key. But as I'm an extremely uncoordinated girl, the bag's zipper opens all the way and my books fall to the floor, along with the keys, I didn't see them, but I heard them fall to the floor. I picked up the books, threw them in my bag, and started looking for them. A comical scene, I would say. She was walking in a crouch with a heavy backpack on her back, and being chased by his eyes. And chivalry? Died! Because at no point did he mention helping me, he just stood there.

"Is this yours?" he asked. And what was in his hand? Yes, the blessed keys. But since he caught them, they couldn't have fallen that far.

"It is." I walked toward him. He was standing just the same and holding out his hand with the key to me. What made me curious was his cynical smile, surely he must have had a lot of fun watching me look for them.

I took the keys from his hand, his skin is cool and smooth. I felt something different, like an electric current touching his skin.

"Thank you," I said just that and left. Being around him made me different, I don't like it. I didn't wait for an answer from him, I got in the car and drove home.

My parents haven't arrived yet, better that way. I took a long shower, trying not to think about this crazy day. I got out and threw myself on the bed, in just my underwear, and passed out.
