Third Person P.O.V
William fumed in anger and smashed everything in his room. Kristen misunderstood him, and his father played them both. He not only tried to claim her but also turned her against me. William thought to meet Kristen and clear up the misunderstanding. John walked into his room and sighed, looking at the mess. William broke every single thing in the room and looked like a monster. John touched William's shoulder and made him turn and face him.
"Tell me what happened," John asked with an edge of anger in his tone, but he masked it with his concerned look when William looked up at him.
William breathed deeply and explained what happened at his father's office. John clenched his fist at the thought of Kind touching his precious Kristen. The urge to kill anyone who touched her overwhelmed him, but he stayed composed and listened till the end. The King created a misunderstanding between William and Kristen, and what he said was not totally wrong. William did try to claim her, even though he knew she did not belong to him. John must find a way to help Kristen before they trap her here, and God knows what they are scheming. He can trust no one to help, as everyone is on the king's side. John calmed William and asked him to give Kristen some alone time to calm down before he met her. William refuses at first but eventually understands and goes out of the castle to satisfy his hunger.
The king asked Linda to meet in his courtroom and summoned his trusted witches as well. It's time to wage war against the witches. He thought. Soon after, Linda and ten more witches were present in the room. The king asked the witch who captured Kristen for updates.
The witch replied that they were successful in locating the Fork's land, and by using her power, she showed the visuals of the city to the vampire king. The King saw a bunch of witches moving around happily as if getting ready for some celebration, which made him angry. "How dare they live happily after destroying my queen?" The king roared and threw a glass vase at the visuals. The witches yelped and took a step back. Linda looked unfazed by the petty act.
"It's time. "Let us put an end to that smile and destroy them just the way they did mine." The king hissed at the witches. They shivered.
Yes, my lord, we have the location, but we need to cast great magic along with a powerful witch to get inside the land. "Our powers are not enough to cast that kind of magic to invade a land." The witch stuttered.
The king laughed. "I know you are not capable enough, but I do have the perfect weapon to do that." He says this, thinking of Kirsten. "Your son will be against it, and he will try to protect her," Linda says, casually reading the king's mind.
"I will take care of that." The king hissed at her with darkened eyes.
He calls a witch forward and tells her to take care of William. He knows that the witches cannot stop William, so he plans to manipulate his mind.
"Follow William, and when he meets with Kristen, they will fight, and when that happens, cast a spell to enhance William's anger toward her and make him attack her. That will be enough to keep them apart for a while." He says while taking a sip of blood from his goblet. The witch nods and leaves the room.
"Linda, I want you to watch over Kristen and make her the perfect weapon we need for the war." If she refuses, you know what to do." He says. Linda feels uncontrollable anger but keeps her expression blank and smiles at him. "Sure, my King." She says and walks out of the room clenching her fist.
Kristen P.O.V
I got a feeling that something bad was going to happen; I could sense it, and now I am way too familiar with these signs because of my powers. I braced myself for the worst and tried to prepare myself mentally for whatever was coming my way.
When I walked into my room and found William sitting on my bed, waiting for me, I couldn't help but gasp in shock. His appearance was alarming, and I could feel that something was not right about him. His usually calm green eyes were now filled with a dangerous glint, and there was an unsettling aura around him that made my skin crawl.
"How did you get in here?" I asked him, trying to keep the fear out of my voice. I was sure I had locked the door with a powerful spell.
He let out a deep sigh before speaking, his voice strained with emotion. "Kristen, please listen to me. I need to talk to you."
I furrowed my brows and looked at the door, still wide open. The fact that William had somehow managed to bypass my magical barriers only added to my unease. My heart was racing with a mix of fear and confusion as I wondered what could have caused this sudden change in him.
"You know there are witches here who can cast spells right?" He said cockily. I felt my blood boil with anger. How dare he act so arrogantly after everything that had happened? My mind immediately went back to the woman who had helped kidnap me, wondering if she had anything to do with William's sudden appearance.
"Get out," I said firmly, striding towards the door. But before I could even reach it, William's hands latched onto mine, stopping me in my tracks. The force of his grip was so strong that I stumbled back, struggling to regain my balance.
As I looked up at him, I couldn't help but feel a chill run down my spine. There was something different about him, something that made my instincts scream at me to get away from him as fast as I could. His aura was no longer the one I had come to know and trust over the years.
"Kristen, please, it's all a misunderstanding," he said in a voice that was cold and distant, so unlike the warm and caring tone he used to have. I couldn't help but scoff at his words, feeling a mixture of anger, confusion, and fear all at once.
"What are you going to say?" I spat out, my anger reaching a boiling point. "That you don't have a mate? That you just want me to be your pet and live as a sidekick with you? How can you be so selfish?" The betrayals kept piling up, and my frustration was at an all-time high. "Your father attacked me and said that he wants to claim me, and you also want to do the same? Am I some slave who can be owned?" I shoved his chest, my self-control slipping away with each passing moment. I didn't care if he was a vampire prince. He couldn't treat me like this.
"I do have a mate, but I haven't met her yet, and it's not true that I want to own you," William said through gritted teeth, his displeasure evident. "I like you and I want you to be mine. You are everything to me, Kirsten."
But his words did little to quell my anger. How could he claim to care about me when he was willing to let his father lay claim to me? I glared at him, feeling a mix of hurt and frustration. "You can't just expect me to believe you," I retorted. "After everything that's happened, how can I trust you?"
"I love you, can't you feel that?" William's voice was desperate as he held my chin, forcing me to look at him. But all I felt was disbelief and anger boiling within me.
Without thinking, I slapped him hard across the face. "How dare you say that?" I spat out. "You do not love me. If you did, you would have done something when your father attacked me. It's clear that you're just your father's puppet and don't have the guts to go against him. Even if you did love me, you'd still hand me over to your father if he asked you nicely. You are nothing in front of him."
As I spoke, I saw his eyes change to a deep shade of red, and before I could even react, his hand was around my neck, throwing me across the room. The back of my head hit the wall, and a sharp pain shot through me. "How dare you?" William screamed, his eyes still glowing red with anger.
When he tried to lift me up, I put my hands on his chest and gave him a shove, sending him flying across the room, but much to my dismay, he was back at me, holding my neck once again, his face filled with anger, ready to rip my head off my shoulder. I never saw this side of him, but who am I to complain? They are after all bloodsucking creatures.
I choke when his hold on my neck becomes tight. He releases my neck after a second, causing me to fall to my knees, gasping for air. My head throbs in pain. I touch the back of my head and feel the blood painting my hand. I did not even realize that the tears kept falling freely, and I let out a sob in pain.
William's eyes were filled with an intense hunger as he gazed at the blood on my hand. His fangs protruded from his lips, and his face contorted with an almost animalistic ferocity. The low growl that emanated from his chest was almost inhuman, sending shivers down my spine.
Suddenly, he grabbed me with a forceful grip and slammed me into his body, pinning me against his front. I struggled to break free, but his hold was unyielding, and I could feel his hot breath on the back of my neck.
"William, please...let me go!" I pleaded, my voice shaking with fear as I struggled against his unyielding grasp. He yanked my head to the side, exposing my neck, and I felt a shiver of terror run down my spine. His fangs were sharp and deadly, hovering just above the veins in my neck. I knew I was at his mercy. I closed my eyes tightly and braced myself for the inevitable.
Suddenly, I felt the piercing pain of his fangs sinking deep into my flesh, and a scream of agony escaped my lips. The pain was overwhelming, coursing through my body like a raging inferno. William drank from me hungrily, his grip on my hair tightening with each passing second. I felt weak and powerless, as though my very life force was being drained away.
The only thing I could really feel was the intense pain in my neck and my life essence flowing away from my body. He pulled away from me, almost draining me dry, and pushed me down on the hard, cold floor like a rag doll. I placed my weak, shaking hands on the wound to stop the bleeding. Agony pierced my skin as I felt my blood sliding down my neck.
"I will claim what is mine." He says. His words reverberated in my ears.
"Poor thing! You are nothing but a weapon to my father. This is just the beginning of all the things I planned to do to you, which are going to be much worse if you refuse me. You are mine, and get that inside your thick skull. I am done playing nice. I did everything to keep you safe and gain your trust, but you just keep pushing me away, and now that you have your powers, do you think you are superior to us? I loathe witches, yet I kept you safe just because I cared for an unworthy human like you." The disgust and hatred in his words were palpable, and I felt like I was suffocating under the weight of his words. The mere thought of being a pawn in his father's game made me sick to my stomach. The way he held me as if Iweres nothing more than an object to be owned, made me feel violated and helpless.
My blood boiled as he continued his twisted monologue, blaming me for his own insecurities and frustrations. The arrogance in his voice was infuriating, and I could feel my hands tremble with anger. How dare he speak to me like that?
"You will become mine whether you like it or not." He spoke, his voice soft and haunting. His last sentence echoed in my head, sending a shiver down my spine. The way he whispered it, like a threat, made me realize the severity of the situation I was in. But I refused to be intimidated. I refused to let him take away my agency and my freedom.
With a surge of power, I let my magic take over, the air around us crackling with energy. I could feel the electricity pulsating through my veins as I stood my ground. I was done with his games, done with his manipulations. It was time to fight back, and I wasn't going down without a fight.
I launched myself at William, driven by my anger and the need to protect myself. I felt a rush of adrenaline as I aimed for him, hoping to take him down. But he moved quickly, dodging my attack with ease. As I turned to face him, I saw the wild, animalistic look in his eyes and felt a shiver run down my spine. I knew I was in danger.
"William, you need to leave. Now." My voice shook with fear and anger as I warned him to stay away.
But he didn't listen. He lunged at me with the same ferocity as a predator going after its prey. I didn't have time to react before he was suddenly thrown out of the balcony, the doors shattering as he crashed through them. I turned to see John and Peter standing there, looking angry and worried all at once. Peter used his spell to throw him out.
"They came to save me," I thought, feeling a rush of gratitude and relief.
"Are you all right?" John asks, looking at the blood in my hand. I nod and hold his hand to steady myself from what just happened. His hands cup my cheeks and caress them, and I let the warmth of his hands relax me. "I am here." The concern on his face makes my heart flutter a bit. He did change a lot being around me. I can see the genuine concern in his eyes, and he always appears when I am in danger. I am glad about that. I felt like he was someone I could trust.
"What happened?" Peter asked me looking worried.
"I don't know. "William came to talk to me, and somehow our conversation became an argument."
"He showed me his true self, John," I said, tears running down my cheeks. He is a puppet of his father, and what he did just now proved that he is nothing but a monster like his father. "I don't know what to think, John. He was different, like a completely different person. "He was angry and aggressive, and he looked like he wanted to hurt me," I replied, my voice shaking with fear. John's expression turned to one of confusion and concern. He placed a hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner, but his eyes were scanning the room for any signs of danger. "Are you sure it was William?" "He's never acted like that before, especially not around you," he questioned, his brows furrowing in worry.
I nodded, still feeling shaken from the encounter. "John, he said he would claim me against my will, and he said he is done playing nice. Everything he did so far is an act; he never cared for me, and just like his father said, I am some weapon for them." I informed him of his betrayal in a trembling voice.
As I turned around, a sudden feeling of unease washed over me, like an invisible weight settling on my chest. I could sense a powerful aura emanating from somewhere. When I looked towards the door, my eyes met a pair of intense silver eyes staring back at me from the end of the corridor. I could tell she was a witch by the way she held herself and the aura surrounding her. Her face was hidden by the cloak, but her eyes seemed to bore into my soul. For a moment, we locked eyes, and a strange feeling formed inside me before she disappeared into the shadows, leaving me with a strange sense of foreboding.
