A beastly strength

Andrew's body wasn't under much stress, but his mind however wouldn't cooperate and it made his body weak and fragile. Like after taking a test but 10 times worse and in a negative way, it felt like he was about to be fired from his job that barely paid his bills. His arms shaking as he looked upwards towards the source of his trouble in afraid resentment.

"At least you have some backbone." The voice bellowed out deeply.

Wind started to pick up dramatically as the eye slowly disappeared from the small portal. Andrew looked at the portal with deep interest as his body slowly regained control. Shakily he stood up and looked around his surroundings once more to find a man standing in front of him.

"How did you get here Darian?" His presence along commanded authority as he stood a distance in front of Andrew.

"I-i dont know, I'm sorry." Andrew panicked in front of the obviously stronger being.

"What's a Darian?" He stuttered out with his head lowered slightly.

The mans eyes widened slightly and a gleam of interest slipped through his unimpressed mask. His long black hair drifted all the way down to his waist in an unruly manner, lightly flowing from a small breeze from the aftershock of what Andrew could only assume was his arrival. He was wearing a long black sweatshirt with a pair of sweatpants. Looking up at the mans face Andrew was shocked to find something usually not there.

"Ears?" Andrew stuttered out.

"Of course I have ears. What? Never seen a Beast before?"

"N-no, i haven't." Andrew responded

The man in front of him had short black animal ears on top of his head, with canine like eyes that was almost predatory as he looked at him with even greater interest.

"Where do you come from?" He demanded.

"Earth."

"Too specific, which universe."

"I dont know."

"Who are you!?" he demanded with a frown

"Andrew smith, a human."

The man stopped asking questions and looked at him with slight annoyance. His eyes gleamed a ring or red once more and Andrew felt his throat close.

"Do you think of me as a fool? Anyone with a brain could see that you clearly aren't any normal evolver. You have an aura of divinity, now tell me peasant. Who are you?" He spat out the last words as Andrew felt his vision blur from lack of air.

Andrew couldn't talk, all he could do was stare fearfully back into the man's eyes as a plea to let go.

"*cough I dont kn-" He tried to finish his sentence but he felt the grip tighten and the last of his air slid out of his lungs, his chest was on fire as he tried to scratch the air for forgiveness.

The man in front of him let out more pressure as he released his grip slightly, just enough to keep him alive.

"How odd, you really don't know do you?" He leaned his head forward until he was nearly eye to eye with Andrew his smile widening to a crazed smile.

"How wonderful, you might do." He let his grip go at his words and Andrew fell to the ground heaving with his whole body as he shuddered from lack of oxygen.

His chest flooded with new air and he sat there for a couple of seconds before throwing up onto the unnatural grass in front of him. The grass flattened under his troubled breath as he glanced up at the man to see him walking around in a state of hypnosis with a crazed look.

"What do you mean by that, what divinity?" Andrew heaved still on his knees as he slowly regained composure.

The man ignored him as he continued to pace lightly with rapidly changing emotions, from confused to nothing to anger.

"Alright ill give you a chance." He stopped pacing and turned to look at him.

"Very few people have managed to get here let alone be granted a challenge. Normally you wouldn't either, but with you not knowing anything has sparked a little interest. So tell me, how long have you had yours?" He walked forward demandingly

He grabbed Andrew by the shoulders and lifted him upwards into a standing position.

"I … if your talking about the system it's been 3 days." Andrew replied nervously, wondering if that's what he was asking and not willing to find out.

"Really? How long has your world been evolved?"

"Id say around 6 years." Andrew continued questioning his own words, it hasnt been defined exactly when the system was introduced. But with every passing minute Andrew has become more convinced that this system was bigger than an evolving tool. Forget not being man-made, he came to that conclusion a while ago.

The man in front of him let out an exasperated sigh, whether it was in excitement, relief or disappointment was unknown to him as his hands slowly let go of his shoulders.

"I will give you ONE chance, i do not have the patience to teach such an important spell to such a lowlife. Don't let it get to your head that your special, i just have a soft spot for beginners." He waved his hand as he raised his head to level his eyes with Andrews.

"Look into my eyes, and study them. When you find the source of the aura i shall teach you the spell." He commanded Andrew as he crossed his arms.

Andrew obeyed eagerly, whether he got whatever he was offered was of little importance. He just wanted out, sweat swam down his neck as he lifted his eyes level with the stranger in front of him and prepared himself for the worst.

Andrew glared deeply into the violent abyss in front of him, a red ring swirled around once and Andrew felt his back lower slightly. His mind begged him to bow in front of the being in front of him. But he refused and used his knees as leverage and continued to stare.

'How is that working?' Andrew wondered tiredly as he looked up with all of his mental strength. His neck was practically working against him as he stared into the red pool. Studying to find a way that the eyes work, or a way to counter it. The only way Andrew could see anything getting anywhere with this spell is if he infused mana into his eyes.

Andrew looked towards the slim beastman and infused a little bit of mana into his eyes, causing them to burn.

"GAH" Andrew let out a grunt as it felt like molten lava was spreading from the inside of his eyes out. Just staring back at the man in front of him.

[ Felonel huntsman (3rd realm)]

A bar appeared on top of the man Infront of him as he continued to stare forward with great difficulty. The man in front of him gave a small smile at the situation at hand and gave him a small nod of satisfaction.

Andrew felt a smile crawl across his face at the sight of the nod. Was he done? Did he pass whatever the hell was going on?

But the pressure around him did not decrease at all, in fact. The opposite happened and Andrew was shoved to his knees as he continued to stare into the mans eyes. The red fire abyss drew him in as he stared with the last remaining strength that he had. His eyes were like a ring of blood, circling in a way that traced the outer rims of his iris.

'What's causing this pressure!?' Andrew screamed in his mind, just holding on by a small grip on his insanity.

Begging with teared eyes, he slowly looked in towards the eyes of his predator. Studying for something more than an aura. Nothing was there, all he could do was look closer and closer to try and find something amiss the sea of red. It felt like he was nothing more than an insect in front of a tree. The feeling of insignificance was only growing more and more powerful the longer he studied and the weaker his body felt.

HIs head was begging to be thrown onto the ground, but with the sheer willpower of buried narcissism. His head stayed there looking more intently than ever before. But he found nothing, so he drifted his gaze around the man to try and find something else amiss, but he couldn't find anything different besides the race difference from his results.

his mind was slowly crushing itself as he felt his sanity slipping away.
