The Seen Unseen. III

Dylan had driven back home quietly. He pushed open the main door and stepped in.

Fortunately for him, no one was there to question him about his day, because his mind was already filled with unanswered questions. He slowly walked to his room and shut the door behind him. He sat on a couch, tapping his feet repeatedly on the ground. He racked his brain, trying to make meaning of the situation.

"Knock, knock" was the sound on the door, followed by a seemingly unending creak sound.

Emily stuck her head in through the door. Dylan took a quick glance at her before she walked in.

''Where's Archer?" he asked, immediately she stepped in.

Emily exhaled.

"He didn't come to work today. So, how was your outing today?" She said as she dropped on the bed.

"I wonder why he's not here today..." Dylan muttered.

"He stopped by earlier, but not to work. He said something urgent came up, so he won't be working today" Emily explained.

"He looked angry though" she added.

"Angry?" Dylan repeated, narrowing his gaze at her.

"Yes"

Dylan eyes widened in shock. He looked like he had just found out a huge secret. He propped himself up on the couch.

"Emily..." he called

"Yes...?" she answered

"You remember Cyrus' and Archer's fight yesterday right? "I remember" she answered, nodding slowly.

"You tried telling me something about what you saw"

Emily nodded again.

Dylan propped himself up again, moving to the edge of the seat.

"Emily, I may have seen someone who fits the exact description of what you claim Archer looked like yesterday" he revealed. Emily's eyes widened at his revelation.

"You're not kidding right?" she asked hurriedly.

"No I'm not. Has Archer ever said anything about his family to you?" Dylan questioned.

"Yes, but he has never talked in details about anything concerning his personal life, and his family is no exemption. But he did say something about having a younger sister" Emily pointed out.

At the mention of the word sister, Dylan got up from the seat like he had been electrocuted by it. His wide eyes never left her, and she also stared at him, but definitely not for the same reason why he was so shocked.
