A glimpse of the Unknown. II

The duo had a lot to talk about since they hadn't had the chance for weeks.

Andrea left the house that day, joyous that she had a long chat with her high- school best friend. Emily saw her off, and was all smiles when she walked back into the house. It was almost dark as the both girls had spent the entire day chatting.

Emily walked back to the sitting room, and let herself fall freely on a couch.

"Since your dad isn't home yet, I think I'll need your permission to go home" Archer said, interrupting Emily's moment.

Emily chuckled as she opened her eyes to meet dark eyes with deep grey lenses starring directly at her. She sat upright and gazed at him.

"Mr Archer ... whatever, you are not permitted to leave" Emily said.

"Well Miss Emily ... whatever, I need to get going" Archer replied, obviously hiding uneasiness.

"Well, I'm your boss, and your boss says you're not allowed to go" Emily dragged on.

Archer sighed.

"My boss, I really need to leave, and like right now, so if my boss

doesn't give me permission to leave, I will leave anyways". He said with a shrug and walked to the main door.

"Hey... Wait!" Emily yelled as she rushed over to the door, standing between him and the door. He moved to the side, and she followed his gesture, still blocking his way. He moved to the other side, and she repeated the same action. He tried to move her away, but she held onto his cloak, revealing part of his arm. Archer immediately pulled her hand away as he readjusted his garment to cover his hands.

"Wait, are you like hiding your skin or something?" Emily asked, glancing at Archer suspiciously.

"No, I'm not..."

"...so... do you have an injury you're hiding?" She questioned again, narrowing her gaze at him. Archer raised both brows.

"Yes..., and injury, an eyesore" He lied, nodding convincingly.

"Oh, that means I can pull the other side" she said, attempting to pull the other hand, but Archer moved backwards.

"So there's an injury on this hand too?" Emily asked, staring at him suspiciously, and he nodded.

"Then what about the hand gloves?" She questioned, as she walked back to take a seat, but didn't let her eyes off him.

"I like having them on, and I'm leaving, so see ya" Archer hurriedly said, attempting to pull the door knob Emily sighed.

Archer sighed.

"Wait... wait... wait" Emily interrupted.

"...What?!" Archer asked, getting pissed.

"I'm the only one in this big house, and I'm going to get bored, so just keep me company until my brothers or my dad comes back home" She requested.

"Okay" he said, slowly walking towards her.

"I'll keep you company" he added.

"Yes!" she exclaimed happily.

"So, just grab the TV remote over there" Archer said, pointing to

the space beside Emily. She turned to pick it, and the next sound she heard was that of the door shut. She turned to look at Archer, but the young man was no longer where she had seen him.

She sighed in frustration, and laid on the couch.
