Chapter 37

Adam's storming up all quick, his anger reaching its peak seeing Karl treating Zoey like garbage. "What the heck are you doing?!" he yells, his voice full of emotions.

Karl backs off as he sees Adam, his face suddenly ghostly pale. "W-Wait, Adam, this is not what you think!" he stammers, trying to come up with some lame excuse.

But Adam not buying it. Without a second thought, he throws a punch at Karl. Adam's fist smacks into Karl's jaw, making him stagger and nearly fall to the ground. Karl clutches his face feeling the pain, blood trickling from the corner of his lips.

"You're a real scum, Karl." Adam says, his voice trembling with rage. "How dare you lay a finger on Zoey."

Karl tries to get up, but he feels weak. He takes a few steps back, his back hitting the cool lamp post in the garden. "A-Adam, listen first. I didn't do anything, I just wanted to talk to her," Karl says in fear.
