Thai Dance Teacher

- NCT - {Ten}

I've been here for two years and we've never had an exchange teacher. Even people who have been here longer than me and said that they've never done that.

"Who's that?"

"Is he the new teacher?" A few of my friends said pointing behind me. I turn around and see someone so beautiful I could drop dead.

"Everyone, let's welcome your new teacher! He will tell you about your new dance schedule." The new teacher looked me dead in the eye and whispered to the other teacher that I had just had a week ago. After they exchanged a few whispers he clapped his hands and smiled brightly to the class.

"Hi guys, I'll be your new teacher. After class I will tell you your new dance schedules and also we won't be learning routines normally. Any concerns come to me." English? Interesting. Our other teacher translated it to where people could understand.

"Also guys, your new teacher is from Thailand, he's still learning Korean so he will be communicating in English, please help him out a bit ok?" Everyone nodded and then our dance teacher left us alone with the transfer.

"Ok guys, you all know about military training right?" no one answered because they didn't understand so I step upfront with our new teacher and smile.

"Guys, you all know military training right?" I translated and everyone nodded so I signaled for him to continue. I studied English...

"We're are going to go over the basic movements Right face, left face, an about-face. these will help your stance and formation when you dance." I translated and everyone looked surprised but excited to see something new in the class.

"Ok, for right face your going to stand at a 45-degree angle. Then your left foot's toes are down and you're going to spin on your right heel and step back into the angle." I translated doing what the teacher had said and doing his movements.

Some people's stances were wrong so we helped them put their feet right and then turn smoothly.

"Hey, thanks for your help today Seji." The teacher said in English and I smile.

"Of course, I heard you were from Thailand," I spoke in Thai and it put him in clear shock.

I didn't know you spoke Thai." He said and there sparked our conversation.

"My mom was Thai and my dad was Korean so I learned both languages and then studied English on my own time."

"Wow, that's cool." He said in a sweet tone but I just smile not knowing what to say next.

"Do you plan on doing anything with those skills.?" H asked and I laughed.

"You're good at Thai." He said and his smile hurt my heart. It's like I wanted to protect him."

"Thank you." We stood together in silence in the empty dance studio.

"Hey, I'm kind of interested in finding out more about you, how about a date sometime?"

"Sure." I smiled and shook his hand.

"Call me Lemon."

"Call me Ten."
