The Accident

Brooks stepped into Tory's house and took off his shoes before following Tory, she knocked on her mom's door and said "Mom? I want you to meet someone." A weak voice was heard "Come in, Tory." Tory smiled and opened the door.

Brooks was clenching and unclenching his fists and Tory waved for him to come in. Brooks walked in and looked at the woman in the bed, she was almost as white as a ghost but she was also very beautiful. She had long brown hair and looked 70% like Tory.

Brooks said "Uhh I'm Brooks, Nice to meet you, Ms. Nichols." Tory's mom smiled widely and said "Please call me Claire. You're the boyfriend?" Brooks scratched his neck and nodded saying "If there isn't another one, that should be me."

Claire laughed softly and said "Nice to meet you, Tory comes home with a smile almost everyday nowadays. I can only assume it's because of you." Tory blushed and said "Mom!" Claire laughed and said "Just take care of my daughter, she's a handful." Tory blushed harder and Brooks nodded seriously as he said "I promise, but you can help."

Claire waved and said "Me? Look at me, I've been in this bed a long time." Tory was saddened and Brooks smiled "Everything can change, one day you'll get better. I promise." Claire smiled and said "Thank you, Brooks. Tory, sweetheart can you get me some water?" Tory nodded and left the room.

Claire looked at Brooks and said seriously "Tory's had a hard life. If you hurt her, I swear on my life that I will hurt you. Even if I have to die in the process." Brooks smiled softly and said "You don't have to worry. Whoever hurts her will pay the price, you have my guarantee." he walked to the side of the bed and said "I wouldn't be tossing threats out Ms. Nichols. Your health may really deteriorate. I'm being serious."

Claire sighed and said "I'm used to it, I just feel bad for her. Working all the time for me, it's not right." Brooks sighed and sat in a chair near the bed as he said "What do you have?" Claire sighed and said "If I knew, I would tell you. All I know is I can't move from this bed and I feel weaker everyday." she turned her head and laughed "I'm bored, it's nice to see a new face."

Brooks smiled and Tory came back with a glass of water. Claire reached for the glass but Tory stopped her hand and leaned the cup against her lips. Claire sighed and said "I can't even drink anymore..."

Tory smiled and said "I just don't want you to strain yourself, that's all." Claire rolled her eyes and said "Seriously, forget about me and go live your life." Tory shook her head and said "I will take care of you, forever."

Claire sighed with a smile before saying "Alright, that's enough for today. I'm going to sleep. Brooks, it was very nice meeting you. I hope to see you again." Brooks smiled and joked "You're not getting rid of my that easily, Claire." Claire laughed softly and said "Maybe next time then." Brooks choked and Claire laughed, Tory smiled happily and brought Brooks out of the room.

Brooks closed the door and Tory said "She likes you!" as she hugged him tightly. Brooks hugged her back and said "She's really nice. Now I know why you're so beautiful." Tory smiled brightly and said "Do you want something to drink?"

Brooks scratched his neck and said "Porky, I don't think I can stay the night here. It's not right.." Tory sighed and said "Do you have to go?" Brooks looked at her before pulling out his phone and calling Johnny.

Johnny answered and said "Yeah, what's up." Brooks said "Hey, dad. I'm at Tory's-" Johnny cut him off and said "Oh. Robby's here. Thought we could do something together." Brooks was confused and looked at Tory as he said "Why is Robby there?"

Johnny drank from his beer and said "He brought over the Larusso girl, she's pretty hammered." Brooks grinded his teeth and said "Larusso is there? I might put her in a body bag if I see her right now." Johnny frowned and said "What happened?"

Brooks looked at Tory, who nodded seriously. Brooks told him the whole story and said "I'm not coming home then, unless she leaves." Johnny sighed and said "It was a kiss, big deal." Brooks said "It is a big deal, man. I have a girlfriend and the circumstances were very bad. Plus she dissed you, I won't tolerate it."

Johnny smiled a bit and said "Alright man, take care of yourself." before hanging up, Brooks hung up and said "I'm staying..." he looked over at the couch and said "I'll sleep on the couch.." Tory rolled her eyes and pulled him to her room.

Brooks looked around and saw all the posters on the wall, with just a simple bed and black sheets, there was also a snake plushie on top of the sheets. Brooks smiled as he said "Very nice!" Tory giggled and said "What can I say, I'm a designer." Brooks laughed and hugged her before falling backwards on her bed.

Tory smiled and kissed him as they got into the sheets and cuddled before falling asleep.

The next day

Brooks showed up at school, he separated with Tory in the lobby and said seriously "Don't do anything stupid." Tory paused for a moment before smiling and leaving, Brooks felt something was wrong and he said "Porker, please." Tory said "I won't." before leaving with a smile.

Brooks sighed and walked to his class.

He walked in and sat in his seat before leaning back. The students filed in and Robby sat next to Brooks. Brooks looked over and said "Woah! School?" Robby said "Larusso." Brooks chuckled and said "Heard you went to dad's last night." Robby was silent and said "I heard you didn't show."

They were both silent for a moment and said "I have my reasons." Robby looked at him and said "Oh yeah? What are they exactly?" Brooks was about to answer when he heard over the intercom "Sam Larusso, you kissed my boyfriend. You're finished."

Brooks frowned and said "That." Robby was stunned and looked at Brooks, who said "I think you need to go, because that wasn't Tory's voice. If I see her, she's going to be eating concrete. Just a heads up." Robby frowned and left the class in a hurry.

Brooks sat still before groaning and running after him saying "This should be fun." he chased Robby down the halls and saw Tory and Lily confronting Sam in the middle of a 4 way intersection in the hallways.

Brooks ran over and stopped next to Robby, he looked at him and said "Why is Lily here?" Robby said seriously "I don't know." Brooks frowned and looked over at Miguel, who was also looking down. He then looked at Lily, who was livid before looking at Sam in shock.

His suspicions were confirmed as Lily said "2 in one night. Very bold, Larusso." Miguel said "Lily-" Lily shouted at him "Shut it! I knew this would happen! Of course you weren't over her! I never should've trusted you in the first place!"

Miguel looked sad and Lily scoffed before turning her attention to Sam and saying "You're dead!" as she kicked out at her head. Brooks rubbed his face and looked at Tory, who looked back and smiled saying "I didn't do anything, but I'm still going to beat this bitch."

Brooks sighed and said "Please just use your fists and legs." Tory smiled and nodded before joining Lily and sweeping at Sam's feet. Robby jumped in and Brooks stopped him saying "Let it go. I told you this chick was bad news, listen to me!"

Robby shouted "I'm not going to just watch!" as he punched out, Brooks blocked and said "You really want to start round 2 right now?" Robby sneered and said "I won't lose this time." Brooks sneered back and said "So then let's go." as he spin kicked at Robby's chest and started fighting.

The rest of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do showed up and Hawk grinned as he said "It's on!" before charging right at Dimitri, who ran away. The rest of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do got into a huge fight, moving to the front lobby of the school.

Brooks shouted "Migs! Help Hawk! Now!" Miguel nodded and threw a kick at Dimitri, putting him off balance as Hawk flying spin kicked Dimitri into a trophy case before going to help the others.

Brooks watched the fight, while deflecting Robby's attacks and blocking him from helping Sam, who retreated up the stairs, fending off Lily and Tory but her retreats were faster than her attacks. She obviously couldn't handle the situation.

In truth, she couldn't even beat one of them, how could she beat both. The defense first Miyagi Karate really saved her ass from a direct beating.

By now Sam retreated to the top of the stairs and onto the second floor. Robby pushed Brooks back and scaled the side of the stairs to the second floor before attacking Tory. Brooks cursed and ran up the stairs before throwing a full cocked fist at Robby, hitting him in the ribs and pushing him back.

Brooks came to Tory's side and said "Are you okay?" Tory smiled and held her arm as she nodded. Brooks let out a breath and growled "Fucking Larusso!" Brooks spin kicked and hit Sam right in the mouth. Slamming her to the ground.

Robby shouted "Sam!" as he ran to her side. Brooks stepped back and said "Stay there. This is mercy for you. You got your ass beat, we're all good." Roby glared at him and said "We're not all good!" as he shot forward and stomped at Brooks' chest.

Brooks didn't have time to counter since he was basically right in front of Robby so he could only take it, but Tory saw the railing behind him and jumped forward, pushing him out of the way and getting kicked in the side, flying over the railing. Brooks' eyes widened and he reached over the railing, everything was in slow motion for him, his finger tips brushed against Tory's and missed.

Time resumed and the last thing Brooks saw was Tory smile at him and mouth 'I love you' before she slammed into the stair railing on the first floor and collapsed to the ground.

The fighting stopped and everybody looked at Tory. Hawk looked at Brooks and his pupils shrank as he said "Oh shit." Brooks' world lost color and he stared at Tory's body in a daze. The thud of her body hitting the ground ringing in his head.

His eyes slowly became bloodshot and he snapped his head around, glaring at Robby, who backed away saying "It was an accident!" Brooks snapped and walked towards him clenching his fists tightly, Sam stepped in the way and said "It was an accident! Leave him alone!" Robby shouted "Sam stop!"

Brooks' face was ice cold and emotionless as he punched her in the stomach before grabbing her head and swinging his knee back before following through on her face. He kicked out her ankles and dropped her the ground as he stared at Robby, who ran away as he heard sirens.

Robby watched him go before walking to Tory and kneeling next to her, a little bit of light came back to his eyes as he swept her hair from her face. A medic reached out a hand towards Brooks and Brooks grabbed his wrist and looked at him with a chilling stare while squeezing.

Hawks and Miguel pulled Brooks back and shouted "It's the medic! Relax!" Brooks let go and his face was expressionless as he shook off Miguel and Hawk before walking to the window doors and watching them put Tory's body inside the Ambulance. He watched them drive off before leaving the school, kicking the glass door and shattering it as he left.

Hawk and Miguel watched him get in his car and drive away. Hawk said "Call Sensei." Miguel nodded and called Johnny.

Brooks got home and took off the Cobra Kai jacket he was wearing last night. He left it on the bed before grabbing his things, packing them up and leaving his room. He stopped and left the headband Johnny gave him on the table before walking out the door and disappearing down the street with his car.

Brooks stopped at the hospital and walked inside. He walked up to the counter and said "Tory Nichols." the nurse said "Who are you?" Brooks said "Boyfriend." the nurse looked at him for a moment before looking at Tory's file and saying "She's in the ICU. Room 58." Brooks nodded and walked away to the ICU.

Brooks looked through the glass with his hands in his hoodie pockets. He saw the doctors putting all sorts of shit on Tory. He was completely silent and someone walked out of the room, Brooks looked over and said "Where's the doctor in charge?" the woman said "She's over here, would you like to speak with her?"

Brooks nodded and followed the woman. They stopped in front of a doctor and the nurse said "Doctor Klein, this young man would like to have a word." Doctor Klein looked at Brooks and smiled "How can I help?" Brooks said "Tory Nichols, Room 58. She's your patient?" Doctor Klein nodded and said "Yes?"

Brooks said "How much is treatment, pre and post surgery if needed." Doctor Klein said "Who are you?" Brooks said "I'm her boyfriend." Doctor Klein said "This is confidential-" Brooks cut her off and said coldly "Her mom is sick and can't move at home, her brother is 6, and her dad is dead. Who the fuck are you going to talk to?"

Doctor Klein was startled and Brooks said "Hurry up and give me an estimate. I don't want to waste your time, when you could be saving lives." Doctor Klein looked through her clipboard and said "Estimated fracture in the pelvic bone and lower spine, treatable but surgery maybe be required... To be blunt it's in the hundreds of thousands, but I can't be sure until we get an X-ray."

Brooks wrote down his number and said "I'm the only person who gives a shit about her apparently, so just call me if there's a problem. Who do I need to talk to, to get a patient admitted?" Doctor Klein said "You're talking about her mother?" Brooks nodded and Doctor Klein said "Just talk to me, but why are you taking care of her entire family? How are you going to get the money?"

Brooks said "That's none of your business. Just send your number to my phone and I'll call you with the other patient. Have a nice day." before walking away and sitting down in front of room 58, just staring inside.
