15. Breaking his rules again

"I'm sorry that I stood you up today." She fretted as he drove her home. She was really looking forward to their date.

"We could always set another one." He shrugs. "And besides, me and you, on a high place, talking about your likes, with a coffee in both our hands..." He looks her way with an enamoring smile on his lips, "Pretty much sounds like a fulfilled date to me," That's how he really felt, even though he had no idea why such simpleness felt fulfilling.

"Thank you, I promise I'll make it up to you, I swear" Her eyes suddenly shot up with absolute determination, her fists clenched tightly at her chest level, her lips pressed together, and he chuckled at the sudden burst of enthusiasm that was oozing all around her.

"I'll take you out, tomorrow, I have the morning shift, and it ends by two in the afternoon, and I don't have classes. I promise to take YOU, on a date, and I'll make up for keeping you waiting, and for the coffee, and the free ride."

*BWAHAHAHHAAA* He couldn't hold it in, he burst out laughing hard. It took a lot of effort for him to hold on to the wheel and not drive them into an accident. She was like a wrap of onion, this girl. With different, multiple layers. And every layer was so innocently fascinating.

"Oh White, you are one of a kind I assure you that," he chortles. And she couldn't understand why he was laughing, she was being serious, but as he laughed, she loved the way his nose twitched, the way his shoulder rose and fell, the way his eyes sparkled. He was beautiful to behold.

"But as much as I would adore a date with you tomorrow, and enjoy collecting the payment for the coffee and free ride... hahaha." He chuckled between sentences, "I must decline the offer."

"oh," He could see the enthusiastic look on her face quickly transpose to disappointment, and a smile crawled up his lips, ``urgh, she's a doll``.

"I'll be going on a business trip to Unicorn City tomorrow, and I won't be back till Saturday." as he said this, a bell rang in his head, ``I just broke another rule`` His business weren't his girlfriends business, that was one of his rule. His previous girlfriend's didn't have to know his movements, but here he was telling Erina about his trip, the day he's to depart, the place he's headed, and the exact date of his return. ``Why do I keep breaking my own rules?``

"There's a little problem with a building I just purchased, the former workers are refusing to leave, and are protesting outside the company..." Why was he giving her the entire detail?

"I'll need to go and settle things by myself and do some other business stuff while I'm there." and in his head he was telling himself to stop, but he just couldn't, not when she looked like a cute little Maltese who was about to cry, he felt the need to explain to her in details why he was declining her offer.

"OH, I'm sorry, I forgot you were a busy person." she was always apologizing, this girl. "tomorrow is Tuesday, so that's five days" She calculated in a low whisper. Oh that look of disappointment on her face was extremely cute.

"I heard it's a really nice place... Unicorn City, I mean." She says, still looking glum and dejected.

"You can say that, but I think it's like any other city." He shrugs.

"I don't know much about the place, but I did hear that Luna Park is a sight to behold." She was just spewing anything that came to her head. When in fact, she was feeling bad about missing their date, and wanted to tell him that she wished he wouldn't be gone for too long, because she'd probably miss him... Definitely.

"Funny fact, Luna Park is close to the building we purchased." He says, glancing her way, and he could see she wasn't listening, she was just nodding, while picking at her fingers... Uh, she's cute.

"You can even see the huge rides like the ferris wheel, you can see it clearly from my building." He adds, and almost laughed out loud when he saw her nod again half-heartedly.

"You know, I wonder if I could wrap things up a little earlier and come back Friday evening." And her head shot right up again, and the twinkle in her grey eyes made something move inside of him, and his heart skipped a few beats before returning back to its normal pacing.

"I can't be certain unless I see for myself. But whenever I get back, be it Friday or Saturday, I'll take you up on that offer... What do you say?"

She places a hand over her mouth to muffle the joyful squeal that was about to escape her lips. "T_that's fine" she stutters. ``Ahh, this too much cuteness is contagious. Thank goodness I'm immune to all these now`` or so he wanted to believe.
