Looking at the lifeless red eyes of his lover, he was reminded of another girl with the same red ruby eyes they met on their journey. His heart felt like it was stabbed by thousands of blades when he was reminded of how they came back together just several hours ago. 

And then, there was the golden-haired man's voice, faint but clear with mockery: "Everything happens for a reason, Zayn. You just have to choose the right side."

He clenched his fists, his jaw tightening.

If he chose the wrong side, Eliza would die because of it. But if he chose the right side, would that mean he had to get rid of Claire? Was she really the root of all this?

"That girl…" Zayn whispered, his eyes red with tears and hatred. "Her red eyes… they're a curse."

His hands shook, but his heart began to fill with a new feeling—a mixture of guilt, hatred, and the need to find answers.
