Child Of The Void

THIS NOVEL IS MOVING TO PATREON, ON THIS APP, IT WILL HAVE INCREDIBLY SLOW UPDATES. I APOLOGIZE TO READERS FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE LINK IS BELOW NOW. Or just read on Scribblehub since it has 2 chaps a week (at least). https://www.patreon.com/Novels630 *** Finally! After hundreds of years of suppression and abuse, humanity produced a genius! --- From 391 Aetil to 'now', humanity has had to live as the servants of the Gods. They had been wrongfully abused and used as slaves with no rights. Just as they were going to give up and forever live at the bottom of the food chain, hunted by every existence and used as sources of entertainment, a genius with extraordinary talent had been born! Raymond Valtere, or Ray for short, had been born. And only 5 years after his birth, he was sealed away by some Gods who were afraid of his talent. Sealed in the Void, where nothing exists, Ray trains and learns. In a place where his mind ages yet his body doesn't, he meets the Void and comes to see it as a sort of Guardian that raised him. Ray reaches the peak of his talent and, eventually, reaches the peak of humanity. Now wielding the power of the Void, he sets out to free humanity from the shackles of the Gods. Though he might find other goals in the future, not everything is certain! But everyone knows. He is imperfect, impure. --- "How funny is it, that the man deemed to feel the least cared the most." *** This was honestly written for fun and I don't really have a talent for writing so, enjoy! I am still a student so don't mind the mistakes or the personality changes or the unexpected emo scenes, this is purely experimental! Please remember that I have a life and I won't be absolutely dedicated to this so don't find it strange if I randomly stop writing! I know I said I was 'unconfident' about writing romances but... The urges... The voices... Well, anyways, I'm writing a boys love! Yay! But the romance will be toxic and hard to understand near the beginning, you'll soon be able to see it mellow down. Or not, don't trust me with keeping to single ideas. I will be commenting on a few 'quotes' from Raymond throughout the novel! Don't read them, I got firsthand embarrassment from them!

Cooking With Tasteless Food

-1st person-

1400 years later,

"I'm bored."

Me too.

"What do you reckon we could do?"

I don't know, cook?

"That's a terrible idea, You do know that food is tasteless here, right?" I rolled my eyes as I replied to Mana's cheerfully bored voice. I know, right? How can a voice be cheerfully bored, but here it is right in front of me.

But who cares, if you practise cooking here, then when you go back to Earth you could be a master chef!

"That's some fantasies you've got there."

I'm a terrible cook. But that's mostly attributed to my age cause I was 4 years old when I last cooked and I almost burned down the house...

And cooking is a good hobby. I've seen millions cooking food with a smile despite the food looking like vomit or something. It would be a good experience anyways.

"I guess so..."

I stood up from the chair I was sitting on and walked out of the library, slowly taking each step towards the kitchen, where multiple different fruits lay and in the fridge, there were also extra ingredients.

Referring to the cookbook I picked up on my way out, I picked out certain ingredients and cut them.

I poured other things into a pan for some time before placing the main ingredient in there.

Time passed as I cooked dishes and dishes, but the food was still tasteless.

---

1 hour later,

I poured multiple different dishes onto a table as their appearances varied. The first and farthest from me looked disgusting, a lump of onions and tomatoes that were burnt. The second was similar to the one before it but there were fewer onions and you could also see the chicken underneath it. The third had the right amount of onions and tomatoes among other vegetables but they were still burnt, the chicken was completely visible yet completely... Disintegrated? The fourth had a bit too many onions, however, things weren't as burnt as before. The fifth looked close to perfect but sadly, the chicken was burnt, again. And the sixth was perfect.

Then, there was another dish from there. Cake. The first was a lump of mush at best. The second was more solid but was still inedible and poisonous. The third was just inedible as it looked like an actual cake with the icing having been made with salt rather than sugar. The fourth looked perfect and I also had Mana check it, it was edible and would be really good.

And so on, there were so many different dishes that my head spun just thinking about all of them.

"Eris, can you taste the food?" I said with absolutely no malice at all.

"Yep. I can taste the food since it's creation stems from my power so if I were to consume it, it would taste like any normal dish on Earth to me."

It was just pure curiosity but I guess I did learn something after all. I contemplated using my own power to make dishes but then thought against it. It would be useless to use power like this.

Oh, good idea! Let's make Her eat it! She can give us advice on how to make it taste better!

"Then... Eat this." I held out the best of each dish I made to Eris, who'd already appeared as Herself.

"Ah. Okay then." She took the dish from me and took a bite from it. I was actually surprised at how quickly she accepted it too...

---

2400 years later,

I really did become a really good cook though... It was really surprising yet not surprising at all, how strange.

After meeting Mana, my speed in training increased. But we also spoke less since it was too much for me to speak to Mana. It took away my focus basically.

I mean, I'd already broken through to Viscount rank in my talent after reaching Peak in existence. And before you think Baron rank isn't much, the thing is, my talent capacity is abnormally large. So it would take me roughly around 2000 years just to get to Baron rank. Like, I got double in less time!

I stared at Eris as I waited for her review of the dish I finished cooking around 10 minutes ago.

"It's... Nice." She proceeded to explain everything about it in perfect detail, for example, the harmony of the ingredients were great and the seasoning didn't take away the actual taste of the dish I made and so on. Eris really does commit to Her tasks.

Shortly after that interaction, I went back to the library to proceed reading a couple books about random things like fishing and computers. There were multiple other topics but most of them ended at those 2 topics, for some reason.

---

A few hours later,

I yawned and closed the last book before swiftly placing it on a tower that would be taller than 3 mes stacked on top of each other.

"That was a lot and all I learned was how to fish and make laptops..."

I stood up and stretched before going outside to practise.

I stood in the familiar garden, staring at the energies flowing in the air. They'd gotten more familiar over time and I got used to staring at the different minuscule particles

I held up a finger to [magnetize] the energies as all the mana surrounding me converged into a larger particle. I sent my will into it, which caused it to burn bright as a fire. Then, I held my hand in front of me.

[Fire Arrow]

A circle with simple patterns appeared in front of me and shot an arrow made of a bright red flame onto the target I had placed in front of me. The target exploded, leaving only ashes. The flame arrow was a bright red, formed in a perfect shape except for the occasional embers floating away harmlessly.

[Create: Target]

The second most important thing for this spell is imagination, if you want to make something, you'd need to imagine what to create first. The most important is actually casting. For me, I only need to say it in my head but most others would have to say set chants to create a sorcerer's circle but my focus which I developed very well these thousands of years allowed me to use chant-less magic.

A circle with hundreds of different lines appeared where the previous target was and after a few seconds, a brand new target appeared.

[Converge: Fire and Water]

[Liquid Fire Arrow]

A new arrow appeared, it was an inexplicable phenomenon. A mixture of Fire and Water. Though, it was more like water and liquid fire, literally. The fire flowed like water and mixed with the water.

The arrow flew onto the target, it was quick and completely destroyed the target.

"Amazing..."

I repeated the process a couple of times, trying out new spells and also getting used to the feeling.

My mana never ran out though, I naturally had a large capacity since my rank was high. But most of these spells were easy and quite simple for me. However, the [Creation] and [Converging] were more difficult than the others. That latter took 100 years whilst [Creation] took 1000.

I LEFT THIS BLANK? Ugh, I'm utterly disgusted at myself. Anyways, what is it that creators usually say? Ah, right. Vote for me guys, I need the motivation!
