Why Can’t You Love Me?

How did he know?

Diana turned her gaze away from Roman, while he looked at her intently with eyes full of eagerness and desire. Then, Roman held her hand gently before she completely turned her back.

Without hesitations, he kissed her hand with his soft lips and gazed at it for a while. "By the look on your face, I know it's him.. Being connected with you by heartstrings of the imprint, I can tell that if I mention the lycan's name.. your heart will surely flutter in either sadness of being away from him, or delight just at the thought of him", he said.

With a quick writhing movement, Diana took her hand back as she met his gaze. "I have no idea what you are talking about", Diana said as she breathe deeply.

"Really? Should we test that?", Roman squinted his eyes lowering his head to Diana. "S… Sco..", he said but then the trailer home shook violently from the sudden jolts and bumps.

"Oh!", Diana gasped and relfexively leaned her hand on the wall at same time Roman snaked his arm around her waist pulling her close to his tight body. With her eyes tightly shut, Diana opened her eyes as soon as the trailer home passes the uneven road smoothly finding Roman staring inches away from her face.

Despite getting lost in her eyes, Roman still found his way to wake up to his senses before he forces himself on her - something he's been struggling with. Seeking for multiple possibilities of attracting his Luna, Roman is desperately committed to own Diana in a heartbeat. And, deep in his darkest thoughts, and deepest desires, he have loved Diana in all ways he knew.

Roman took in her addicting scent with one long, deep breath, and said, "Can we stay like this for a while?" as he slowly wrapped both of his arms around her body. Resting his chin on top of her head, he closed his eyes and dreamed of the day she'll hug him back. Then, he caressed her body feeling her nakedness under her shirt sparking his strong sexual desires.

While he has all mad intentions to devour her whole, the unimprinted Luna, who Roman is head over heels crazy for, looks at him with no interest, no affection, and not even an ample of lust to be mutually intimate with the bold and dominant Alpha like him.

In defiance of Scott turning into a rabid killing monster, Diana still chose him above all odds. The actual distance between them today, and Scott's monstrosity and deadly ordeals never became a hindrance for Diana to accept Scott with all her heart. In fact, she love him even more, more than she loves herself.

And that's what Roman wants - to be loved with no measure and no distance, to be seen more than meets the eye, and to be accepted of who you truly are. With Diana being unimprinted, what she feels for Scott is incomparable to the wolf's imprint, for it is an unconditional love without any limitations.

Diana twisted gently and placed her palms on his chest as she push him away. "Roman.. I am not for you ", she rejected.

"And so is he.." Roman breathlessly replied as he grabbed her by her arm. "I will work on it Diana.. I'll wake up each day and retire every night with a hope that you'll change your mind..", he added.

"Your mother is right. I will never be good for you. Let me go", Diana said as she gritted her teeth.

Roman darkened his eyes and shifted to a completely different version of himself Diana haven't seen before. In an instant, Roman grabbed Diana by her nape and deeply kissed her pushing her to the bed. Diana muffled in his mouth as she stiffened her body from Roman's forceful grips.

When she landed on the bed, she could only punch his chest while his entire weight is on top of her pinning her down. She gasped when Roman tore her shirt apart exposing her bare chest.

Grunting in fear and weeping in distress, Diana stopped struggling as she lay on the bed unmoving. Then all of a sudden, Roman stopped as he rested his head on her chest.

"Why Diana? Why can't you love me?", Roman asked.

Diana didn't replied and just let her soft sobs out. Roman stood up, as Diana stayed on the bed completely still. He took one shirt from his drawer and carefully put it on Diana who was sobbing uncontrollably along with her heavy tears.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry… please forgive me", Roman regretfully said as he wiped her tears. She covered her face with her palms, while Roman hugged her trembling body with her head on his chest 'How stupid, Roman', he thought.

It was almost midnight when they arrived to a small seculded house in the Valley of the Falls. Along with the five members of the pack and Kristia, Roman prepared the home for the convenience of Diana's stay.

With her eyes swelling and weary, Diana followed Roman to the house which seemed like will tear apart with one gush of strong wind from a storm. She kept her arms folded as she enter the shabby home.

Roman lighted a few wax candles brightening the house made of thick planks of wood. Diana looked around the home with a nice fireplace, a small kitchen and dining room, all made from wood. Then there's this hallway that leads to three doors. With only flames from the wax candles lightening up the home, she can tell the windows are tightly shut and the doors seemed heavily locked. 'I was right, I 'll never get out from here', she thought.

"The first door to your right is our room. You can wait there while we get some firewood. ", Roman said as he handed the candle.

Diana didn't replied, and much to her anger, she didn't took the candle from his hand. Instead, she took the candelabra on the table. Then, without a word or a gaze, she proceeded to the door on the left.

Once in, she locked the door behind her and studied the room. It was a small room with a bunk bed, a small table, a chair and a small glass window. Diana sat on a chair near the window and looked out. "How long am I going to stay here??", she whispered. Minutes later, she heard someone knocking on the door.
