I'm in my office in Fate Circle right now. I sit in my chair and silently contemplate the future. It's been almost a month since I got Mr. Atlanta in charge of the Atlantis project. It was a very challenging time, but I have to get used to it. That's how it will be for the next few years. But I'm not going to give up. I will finish it at any cost.
There is still an awful lot that needs to be done. As a member of Fate Circle's senior management, I have access to the advanced features of the AI management firm. I used it to find suitable warehouses, shipyards and extensive workshops where the initial parts of the floating city would be stored, transported and modified. I also had the AI search for people suitable for work, project supervision and much more that was needed to get the project off to a smooth start.
Now there is only one thing left that must be arranged before construction can begin. Stable supply of materials. But here a certain problem arises. The amount of materials required for construction can affect the entire market and negatively even harm the interests of many corporate powers. They could then try to sabotage the project and there would be a lot of problems. I sigh. I really don't want to deal with them, but I probably won't avoid it, and I don't even want to think about governments.
I doubt Daniel will help me with that. I bet it'll just give me more work. The only time I can stand him is when he dives into research. Other than that, I think he's a terrible bastard.
Once, for fun, he let a poor man win the lottery, only to then rob him of everything and leave him in terrible debt.
He manipulates the lives of others for his pleasure and amusement. He likes to watch and try to understand their emotions. He wants to prove that he has complete control over them and that no one can stand against him.
He last saved a girl from rape before raping her himself. I had to clean up the mess afterwards. I had to make the three guys disappear and comfort the girl. Why did he have to do such a thing to such a sweet girl. I hope it doesn't leave a lasting impression on her.
I look at my watch. It's getting close to noon. I get up from the chair. I take my phone and electronic cigarettes from the table. I leave my office and take the elevator down to the ground floor. I go outside the entrance of the building to have a smoke.
I take a deep breath of nicotine and let it calm my raging emotions. When I exhale, white smoke escapes from my mouth.
After finishing my cigarette, I throw out the butt and wave to a taxi nearby. I get in and let the driver drop me off at a fancy restaurant. I'm really hungry now. I want to eat.
I walk in and the waiter greets me and shows me an empty table to sit at.
I sit down at the table and immediately order water and a glass of premium wine. I take the menu and start looking at today's lunch menu. I am a fairly frequent customer of this establishment, so I know what dishes to expect and it doesn't take me too long to choose a meal.
I eat here every time. With a full stomach, I lean against the back of the chair and relax. I just sit idly for a moment before looking at my watch to check the time. Oh yeah, I don't have much time left. I should go.
To get where I am now, I did a lot for it. I am not proud of many decisions in my life. But it's a path I've decided to take and nothing will stop me from continuing on it. I'm going to make my dreams come true. Blood will flow today and I will be the cause of it.
I put the glass to my mouth and finish the remaining wine in one gulp. I call the waiter and pay. I get up from my chair and calmly leave my favorite restaurant. I call a taxi again and instruct the taxi driver where to take me.
