Celestial Elves' Survival Game

Celestial Elves, a race of Celestial beings, bargained with the world leaders of Earth to not destroy the planet if they could offer them an appreciable number of prisoners as compensation for not destroying their world. The leaders gathered around and agreed to their terms. After all, what could be better than such a deal. These were just a bunch of cutthroat criminals and misfits. A thorn to the society at large. The world leaders would be glad to let these bands of miscreants leave their homeland as soon as possible. And so a deal was struck with the Celestial beings, with the inhabitants of the world at large oblivious to this knowledge except for the world leaders of course. A total of 80,000 criminals charged with a death sentence would be enough to placate the Celestials urge for destruction. And here’s where our protagonist comes into play. Ace Tempest, an eighteen year old undergraduate, was incarcerated for the murder of his father who in turn was at fault for the domestic violence he implements while at home.  Thrown into a prison facility just like the rest of the criminals, Ace had no choice but to take part in this survival game where players who suffered in-game deaths would surely follow a similar fate in real life. But that wasn't all, since the players were in another world, the inhabitants of Earth had already forgotten the players even existed. Now what will he do since both his mother and sister had forgotten all about him? Will he strive to win the 1,000,000,000 dollar reward or will something totally unexpected occur to him in the game. If you don't wanna miss it then come and join the fun. Thanks. [[ Warning!! Contains Mature Content and Gore.]] Please, all events that occurred in this novel is completely fictional. 32. Ace Vs Jasmine.

I scoffed at the nonsensical words she uttered, but this only angered her more and in a fit of rage, Jasmine assumed a battle stance.

With a single step forward, she vanishes in a blink of an eye, even though I was about twenty meters away from her.

Then she reappears in front of me with bloodshot eyes and the edge of her blade inches away from my throat.

"You're dead!!" She roared.

'Oh, sh*t! I forgot she had leveled up,'

I expeditiously arched my body backward, enabling her blade to pierce through the wind just slightly above my face.

'Whew! That would have been me',

I cautioned myself, but hastily grabbed the sword Jasmine tossed to me earlier from the floor and turned to her.

"Ugh!!" Jasmine's lips constricted, showing her pristine white teeth.

Her face contorted into one with rage. She wasn't pleased by how her blade couldn't hit me.

Sh×t !! I forgot she leveled up a few hours ago, so she must have acquired new character points for herself.

This was why I could barely keep up with her movement. I'm certain she must have increased her agility.

Even so, I had to come up with a plan to cross swords with her without being the one dead in the end.

I took a deep breath, a common ritual to conceal my fatigue and fear.

She was enraged and so, would have to be handled with my full concentration.

After all, she is the first level 2 human I will be battling against.

Should I have angered her?

I don't know.

Either way, I had to voice out my frustrations.

This alliance isn't going to work if there isn't an ounce of trust between us.

But how could there ever be trust between two murderers in the first place?

"I didn't know it would lead to her death," Jasmine voiced out, her voice trembling by the second.

" I never intended for it to happen,"

"I would never want to kill my sister," Tears coursed down her cheeks as she stood with her back facing directly at me.

She appears to be going through a nervous breakdown.

'So she did kill her sister, huh?' I thought to myself.

Of course, I do not know if this was true, but it was just my assumption with the brief hints of her words.

Jasmine turned to face me, but her teary expression instantly diffused into pure hatred.

"I didn't do it!!" She yelled.

"You know nothing about me!!" She roared and then vanished right in front of me again, leaving behind an afterimage.

I brandished my sword and took a defensive pose, just in case she tried to strike once again.

But before I could completely defend myself, a bright spark appeared in front of me.

It was the result of the intense collision between our swords.

The impact sent me flying and crashing into a tree behind me.

She darted forward with another swing of her sword, accompanying it with a yell.

"You know nothing about me." She repeated.

The sound of her voice made me realize how close she already was to me.

Yet again, I brandished my sword to parry her attack, but the sparks of the colliding sword took me by surprise once again.

This time around, she was relentless, swinging her arm ceaselessly as her sword mercilessly struck mine, pushing me into the defensive while she repeatedly yelled the same words over and over again.

It was getting dark, the howling gales of the wind continued to rise, but Jasmine's yell suppressed it all.

She repeatedly continued her attack without an end in sight and with tears streaming ceaselessly down her cheeks.

Cracks began to appear on both of our swords.

At this rate, it is my sword that would be shattering first and not hers.

After being on the receiving end for more than ten minutes now, I have grown accustomed to her movement pattern and the time it takes for her sword to make contact.

Right after she makes a strike, she follows it up with another just a second apart from the first strike.

It's been the same for the past ten minutes now.

Which means I had less than one second to do whatever I can to survive.

Now, It's my turn to be on the offensive.

She strikes once again, but this time I buckled my knees to evade her swift attack.

Her blade glided through the tiny hair above my head and slashed the tree behind me in two.

With an attack like that, I wouldn't be surprised if her blade lopped off my head clean from the rest of my body.

I rolled over and tightened the grip on the hilt of my sword.

Its durability had dropped to two, meaning the sword could vanish anytime from now if the cracks on it continue to spread.

There were cracks on Jasmine's sword as well, and I'm certain her sword durability should be the same as mine, if not lower.

Jasmine exhaled loudly in irritation.

"You're just like the rest of them. You do not believe me. So, I have no choice but to send you to where they are now,"
