Contrary to what that clueless housemaid of Jessica no doubt thinks, I don’t head back to where I live with my tail tucked between my legs. I refuse to give the insolent bitch the satisfaction of doing that.

Besides, I have a hunch that everything is not all right with Jessica, and when I get a hunch about something, I take it very seriously. It's not going to be different this time around.

On the night that Jessica's housemaid refuses me from staying over at Jessica’s house, a house in which I’ve stayed more than once before, I check into a hotel not too far from the house and spend the night there.

The next day, I go back to Jessica's house to ask the maid if her employer is back yet, or if she has at least, heard from her, but I get a no as a response.
