Mu Yuze did not know who had proposed this name when the event bore no relation to the renowned fantasy movie whatsoever. This event, in fact, was nothing more than a hunt— a pursuit of Omegas.
It was described in history books that long ago before order was maintained in the society, the way Alphas and Omegas mated was through this hunt. Adult omegas who had experienced their first heat would be gathered in one place before being released into the wilderness while Alphas, the potential partners, were tasked to hunt them down.
It was a primal mating ritual. The chase and evasion, the thrill and satisfaction.
If an Alpha succeeded in catching the Omega they had set their eyes upon, it meant they had proven their capabilities. They earned the right to mark the captured Omega and sometimes they might even mate right then and there. It was a wild, unrestrained and barbaric mating ritual.
