Chapter 20: Stop Playing Mind Games with Me (1)

Percy Stanton nodded and said, "Thanks for your help today, you can go home now."

"Alright, Mr. Stanton." The hourly worker replied, then went to grab his bag, changed his shoes, and left.

Percy waited until the hourly worker had left before walking towards the living room. As he approached, he saw that his son, Raymond Thompson, was indeed watching a cartoon, the currently popular "Happy Sheep and Big Grey Wolf." Percy gave a quick glance at the TV screen and his well-behaved son sitting on the sofa, then headed directly to the bedroom.

Percy took a bath, and when he came out, the cartoon was already ending. Raymond finally took his clear glass-like eyes off the TV screen, and accidently caught a glimpse of Percy from the corner of his eyes. He immediately stood up and obediently called out, "Father."

Percy grunted in response and sat down on the sofa, casually asking his son, "What did you learn in kindergarten today?"

Raymond sat back down on the sofa and swung his head side to side, mumbling a long passage, "Goose, goose, goose, bent neck sings to the sky, white green water, red palms push radishes..."

Frowning, Percy paused for a moment before realizing what Raymond was trying to recite. He patiently corrected his son's Tang poetry recital.

Raymond was a bright child. Percy only corrected him twice and he stopped saying "white green water, red palms push radishes."

Percy checked the time and it was already 8:30 pm. It's getting late, so he decided to have Raymond go to bed.

But Raymond suddenly seemed to remember something. He climbed down from the sofa, grabbed his school bag, took out his mobile phone, ran back to the sofa, climbed up, propped his chin with one hand and used the other to open WhatsApp on his phone to search for People Nearby.

Percy glanced at his son and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm looking for the woman I fell in love with at first sight." Raymond replied without looking up.

WhatsApp keeps the previous address as long as it's not refreshed.

So just after Raymond finished speaking, he saw a familiar profile picture and immediately exclaimed, "I found her!"

Then Raymond clicked on a profile picture. But just as his finger was about to tap the Add Friend, he suddenly hesitated. Then his little face turned red silently.

Percy caught a glimpse of Raymond's mobile phone screen. Indeed, the profile picture on WhatsApp was Isabel Smith's bare face, bright eyes, sparkling teeth, radiant, and beautiful.

Recalling the unpleasant ending of the wine party earlier, Percy felt even more annoyed. He turned away and looked towards the TV instead.

After waiting for a while, Percy noticed that Raymond hadn't made any progress. He casually asked, "Why aren't you adding her?"

Raymond looked up at Percy with a serious expression and said earnestly, "I'm a bit nervous and embarrassed."

Percy glanced at his son without responding. In his heart, he felt that his son was so useless and embarrassing!

Raymond stared at Isabel Smith's profile picture on his mobile phone screen, looking troubled as he continued to mumble to himself, "If I suddenly add Sister Isabel, will she think I'm a womanizer?"

Raymond's mention of "Sister Isabel" twice made Percy's expression darken. He stood up, planning to ignore his son and go to the study room.

However, just as he stood up, Raymond muttered to himself, "Sister Isabel, it's me, Raymond. I hope you'll accept my WhatsApp request. I want to express my gratitude."
