A Chinese novel is incomplete without an arrogant young master

"I'm going Bohai. Take care." I said while heading out of the mansion. Today was the starting of Yingxiong Academy. Yingxiong Academy was the top Academy of China boasting state-of-the-art magic education and training. It was run by the Hero's Association of China after all.

"Yes, Young Master... Take care," Bohai said with his head down. Father's death had quite an impact on him. Well, he seemed to trust him very much as well. He even left a will stating that Bohai will manage his business before I was an adult legally. Damn, he seemed to have already expected his death to leave a will like that. The mystery thickens.

I headed towards the Yingxiong academy portal. Every big city of China had these portals. Except for a few important personnel, nobody knew the true location of Yingxiong Academy. There were rumors that it was on a different space created through advanced space magic. Rumors were just rumors but as the author, I, of course, knew it's location. Well, its a story for another time.

I arrived at the portal station which was relatively deserted. Except for a few staff members, there was no one. I knew I was late as the student orientation should have already started.

Staring at the square-shaped portal outlined by mysterious rocks and crystal with runes all over them, I was indifferent. Yup, you heard it right, indifferent. This magnificent portal which could make anyone marvel at it was being stared at by my indifferent eyes.

According to my normal reaction, I should be ogling my eyes out staring at it.

There was a problem.

I recently figured out that I was being indifferent to everything. Indifferent to the point of being cold. And no it isn't because my father died, I know myself way too much to not notice that. Instead of being broken with guilt, I'm here with cold eyes.

I think it's related to my lifespan being just 6 months. The problem started after it, I guess.

"Do you have any identification indicating you're a student, sir?" The Portal worker in front of me said with a professional tone.

I nodded and took out the student ID from my pocket and gave it to her. There was nothing else I was carrying with me except that. Bohai had already sent all of my belongings to my academy dorm. Having a butler was quite good.

"Run faster, you idiot. We're gonna be late."

"Chill bro chill. It's not like the academy is gonna run away."

Hearing the voice, I turned my head to see a tall and slightly obese man dragging a 6 feet tall man with a handsome face and a ripped body. I knew who they were just by hearing their voice, the protagonist of my novel 'Ye Rong' and his best friend "Ling Yun'.

"Fuck your chill. Who was the one who wasted the whole morning in the toilet." Ling Yun shouted with a tick mark in his head while forcefully dragging Ye Rong.

"I had a bad stomach, It's not my fault, dude." Ye Rong said trying to defend himself.

"tsk- I know what you did so don't act innocent." Ling Yun sneered.

The situation should not be as simple as the conversation I just heard. Ye Rong's blessing was barbarian and he had already awakened it to 2nd stage as well. It was... Beserker.

They came to me and stopped while Ye Rong was curiously looking at me.

"Hey, are you a student of the academy as well?" Ye Rong casually asked while Ling Yun was panting on the side.

I indifferently nodded.

"Great, let's go together. The name's Ye Rong ad he is Ling Yun. What's your's?"

"Yun Long," I said, sounding a bit cold.

There I was imagining what kind of reaction I would have when meeting this overpowered monster, I created and here I was giving cold shoulder to him when I met him.

"Let's hurry or we'll be punished." Ling Yun shouted while giving his and Ye Rong's student ID to the Portal worker.

"You're good to go" As soon as the portal worker returned their IDs Ling Yun caught me and Ye Rong and jumped straight towards the portal.

We escaped through a giant portal that was in the center of a big square, paved paths were branched out in four directions from it, leading towards buildings.

"You're late. The student orientation's already started. Hurry up and go to the auditorium. Youngsters these days have no discipline." An elderly man with a goatee beard shouted with a scowl on his face. He had quite a temper.

Ling Yun apologetically smiled and said: "We're sorry elder. a bit of problem cropped up. Could you please tell us the direction of the auditorium?" he bowed almost 90 degrees while Ye Rong was curiously glancing around with no care in the world.

As for me, I was lost in thought. The person in front of me should be professor Guangli. A renowned person in the field of space magic. It was just that his daughter who also graduated from this Academy was terminally ill, causing his bad temper.

Seeing Ling Yun's attitude, professor Guangli's temper decreased a bit. "There's a map there near the bench. Go look at it yourself." He pointed towards the bench with a wall map of the academy beside it and walked off.

"Thank you, sir." Ling Yun bowed while glaring at Ye Rong and me.

tch-

He clicked his tongue while looking at us. "Useless."

I could kinda guess his feelings.

"Let's go." He said while dragging Ye Rong and staring at me.

"Sure." Ye Rong said while I casually nodded my head. Seeing our reaction, Ling Yun's eyebrow twitched a little.

The map marked all most all of the important places This portal station was in front of the main building while the auditorium was at the right of it. There was the department of technomagic on the left side and the gym and training ground behind it. There was a library on the right of the main building and a P.E. Ground on the left. The dormitory was behind the main building. This was the common layout with different departments of magic and buildings with various purposes all over the place. All of it was separated by a paved path with trees surrounding them.

It should've felt quite shocking seeing the massive size of this Academy even if I wrote it but I was still indifferent and calm. Damn, am I still me? My emotions are getting stripped off me.

"What the- this school is damn big." Ling Yun shouted with both hands on his cheek. I nodded while Ye Rong being the protagonist he is said:

"Uhh... So what's outside this map."

This happy-go-lucky protagonist of mine was always curious.

Curiosity kills the cat.

"You don't need to know," I answered with a cold voice.

Ye Rong looked at me with squinted eyes and puffed up nose and said; "Ah... Whatever."

"Let's go... Hurry... hurry... hurry." Ling Yun said while pushing both of us.

When we reached the audiotorim, there was a socializing event between the students going on. The teachers left them to enjoy as the academy started from tomorrow. They were probably giving the student a one day heaven before endless hell.

Well, the important speeches and the ceremony was already finished so it wasn't compulsory to stay there. I left the party early as shit was going to start soon.

A Chinese novel was incomplete without an arrogant young master after all.

I headed towards the boy's dorm which was behind the main building.
