Chapter 6

It was a warm day. She woke up to the alarm clock ringing. She went the usual road to school.

There was already a lot of people in the classroom. She went to her row and sat down. "Hi," Ian smiled.

"Hi, how have you been?" Dani came up.

Stella greeted him back. "I'm okay."

"Chloe told me she had to read a lot," he said.

"Yes, she returned the book today."

It was lunch time. They sat at a cafeteria. Ian was nowhere to be seen. Ian was usually around at this time, but today, they could not find him. "Maybe he went to Chloe to talk about the article," Dani said.

Stella nodded in agreement. She stared into empty space as a figure swept by. She lookd up and saw Ian coming with Chloe to the table. "Hi," Chloe said. "I was going to give in my article, when I saw Ian coming the other direction."

"We met up and talked a bit about the book," he said. "Can we sit here?"

"Yes," she said.

"I'm planning on going to the library this afternoon. Do you want to come with us?" He smiled.

"I'm free after school, we can go together if you want," she smiled back.

"Great, then we can all meet there," Chloe looked at them and turned back to her lunch.

She followed them back to the classroom. The class started and she pulled out her books. "Shall I wait for you?" Dani asked.

"Okay," she replied.

Ian looked at her silently. "I'm sorry for asking you to help me with my work," he told her. "I've been wanting to finish my project quickly, but I just couldn't get through them quickly enough."

"It's okay," she said. "I'll help you."

It was already near the end of the lesson. She packed her bag and went to the library. There wasn't a lot of people there. She quickly found him and Chloe sitting next to each other at a table near the window.

"I'll quickly go through the books and then we can see what to write," she told them quietly.

"Thanks, Stel," Chloe said.

She ran through the books and picked out a "Rivers in Lilian". It was a book she had wanted to read as a child, but never got the chance to. It wasn't long, before she had finished reading it and sorted out the important bits for him. Then, she carefully wrote them down and handed him the paper.

"Thanks, I would not have done my project like this, if you hadn't helped me."

"You're welcome," she said.

"Do you want to join us for some coffee?" He asked. "We're going to go after this."

"Okay," she said.

She followed them to a coffee shop near the library. "I didn't think that this project would be kind of complicated," she said. "I have been looking through the books and found one that I liked. The chapters were all about rivers and I thought it would be good to describe some of them in your project."

"Yes, I didn't think that those information were that necessary. But I'm happy that you decided to come."

"Maybe those were what she was looking for and it turned out that they were easy to find," Chloe said.

"I didn't find them that quickly," she said. "It was because I was looking through a lot of books and most of them weren't the one I was looking for."

"It's getting dark," she said. "I should head home, now."

"Thanks again," Chloe said. "For helping with the work. I hope you'll get home quickly, remember to text me, when you're home."

"It's okay, I will," she replied.
