When we hold onto our fears, we end up making them real ...
"What are you doing here ? Why are you following me everywher-"
June narrowed her eyes, "I didn't even know you were here so stop"
He laughed, "god, you're such a great liar. Like if I didn't know yo-". He stopped as he felt his cheek heat up. She slapped him.
June stepped forward an inch, "if I really wanted to fucking follow you I would be now in your room not hiding away" she tilted her head, "your not the first to get hurt so get the hell over it already"
She moved a strand of hair away, "don't you ever think that I'll tolerate disrespect from someone like you, Sebastian."
She extended her hand to touch his cheek but he pushed it away, "after all I'm not a child now"
She closed the door and sat down. She looked at the book. She didn't feel like reading anymore.
It's been days since her last interaction with Sebastian. She'd be lying if she said he didn't look better than ever. He was in pain. She saw it in his eyes. And she loved men in pain.
"June !"
She placed a hand on her ear and frowned,
"Yes Alex I'm here". They were in his office discussing some work related matters but her mind was somewhere.
"Then act like it" Alex threw the files to her and went back to his own.
"Look at me" she whispered as she tapped her crossed leg softly on the floor.
"So you can spit on me ? No"
She laughed heartily, "I'll do that later but just look at me now"
Alex sighed and looked into her eyes. His eyes were always a sight to behold.
She ran her fingers along his chiseled face, "how could he hit such a beautiful face" she was implying to the time when Sebastian hit Alex for giving June a hickey.
Alex's blood ran hot as he remembered the incident. "That fucking joke of a man" he spat angrily. June nodded.
"If he knows what else I did then what more will he do" Alex said as he raised his brows and looked down.
June's smile turned down, she massaged the sides of her neck in disapproval.
"If you just give people a chance June, I think I deserve it more than anyone being the handsome man I am"
"Yeah you're right, you deserve one"
Alex's eyes stopped moving along with the words. He looked up to her. "What ?"
June shrugged, "I said yeah you're right, you deserve a chance"
"Seriously ? June are you kidding ?"
June bit her nail, "I'm not" she smiled, "I'll give you the chance to court me like the handsome gentleman you are if-"
Alex's ears were all open, "if ?"
"If you tell me everything you and Harrison were plotting", June leaned in and whispered, "would you rather be my ally or the old man's play pawn ?"
"See June I know you and him have got problems but don't involve m-"
June grabbed his hair tightly and pulled him towards her, "baby you're twenty inches deep into this mess and you're saying don't involve me. Do you think this children's play or what ?"
Alex placed his hand over hers, "if you want to exert excess aggression please do it in bed not on my poor hair"
"And you'll lie and say you didn't like it, huh ?" June said as she let go of his hair.
Alex shook his head, "my bad"
"Alex you said you wanted a chance and here it is, take it"
A million thoughts ran through his head. This was really his chance. When he first joined Harrison he didn't know June. The only data he got was from Harrison about her horrible and vengeful personality and about how she needed to be stopped. And he believed it. Until he really met her and really spent time with her.
Alex really thought of June as the most beautiful woman he has ever met and he wanted to be next to her. Someway somehow. So he let Harrison get him into the firm but even then he couldn't get to her heart. But here was his chance on a golden plate.
Should I. Should I not.
To whom was he going to give his loyalty. The love of his life or his partner.
