Chapter 10

"I'm sorry I lost it and shouted at you, Az." I apologized on a small sigh before lifting my hand up to drag my fingers through my hair a little. I had held up most of my hair in a bun before leaving the house, but when I had started to get restless at around early noon, I had ended up losing my hair from its bond and leaving it to pour down against my neck and the sides of my face.

"No, it's alright, it's perfectly alright. I was just taken aback by your reaction when I had pulled on your hair, which was why I had decided to tease you… I had no idea it was a really bad idea."

"Don't beat yourself up over it, it's not you at all, it's all me and I'm sure I'll be out of this mood really soon." I reassured him as I puffed out a deep breath once again. I reached for the smoothie before me on the table and sucked a little into my mouth wither he straw, welcoming the familiar and milky taste onto my tastebuds, and feeling my stomach growl a little from hunger.

I haven't been feeling really hungry since the start of today, and I had a feeling it was because of my upcoming heat. My appetite does not usually get affected by my heats, but it was one of the symptoms of an upcoming heat, so it was pretty understandable for me to be feeling the way I had been feeling since the start of today after I was done consuming some coffee.

Azriel looked more relieved and less worried now that I had managed to communicate with them with actual complete sentences and not one or two word replies like I had been doing throughout the whole of today.

Azriel and I became friends first, before Ella came into our circle. Azriel was a beta, while Ella, an Omega like myself. Azriel was very much straight and had never spiked my interest for a fleeting moment ever since we became friends, like it usually used to be in my life when it comes to straight guys– until Ash had come into the picture and I had found myself finding a straight guy really attractive, for the first time in my life.

"Hey there, pretty Ella. You smell so ripe..." A voice echoed from above our table and I glanced up instantly, at the same time as my friends and my eyes landed on an Alpha who had his hungry eyes fixed on Ella. His scent wasn't pleasant to my senses one bit and I felt a scowl start to form on my face as I wrinkled my nose.

"What do you want?" I demanded without bothering to hide my scowl as I eyed him up. He was dressed just like stereotypical Alphas here in our school dressed up like, with leather pants hanging really low on his hips almost to the point of it slipping down his legs, and some chains which I was sure was fake gold was around his neck. All in all, he looked really horrible to me and it didn't take him long to move his gaze off Ella to stare at me with an unimpressed look.

"And you are?" He asked in a flat voice and I rolled my eyes instantly before starting to know.

"You most definitely do not need to know." I paused for a moment. "You're also not welcomed here, I'd advice you go walk past this table or head back to wherever it is that you came from."

I watched as he blinked once at me, not believing all that I was saying, and his scent got doused with anger in the blink of an eye, as he breathed out a loud scoff filled with disbelief.

"The fuck you think you are?" He breathed out on a low scoff, with a shake of his head and a laugh filled with disbelief.

"Someone whom I'm afraid your low brain cells might end up exploding if you try to comprehend who I am, so I assure you that you do not want to know who I am, for the sake of your poor brain cells at least…" I breathed out to him almost immediately, enjoying the way his eyes widened in shock for a fleeting second before he angrily slammed his hands into our table, making a few people nearby start to turn their heads around to stare at us.

"How dare you talk to me this way…" He started to demand in a loud anger filled voice, attracting more people into turning their heads around to stare at our table.

"Because I can, you're a nobody." I cut into what he was saying with the following words, and I heard a low murmur start to go up around the tables surrounding our table in the next moment.
