Chapter 25

“It’s Bull, Jamie. Can I come in to talk to you?” Bull held his breath. He heard something move, then a drawer slam.

“Yes, Bull, you can come in.” Bull entered Jamie’s office. His eyes were reddened around the rims and a tissue stuck out of the file drawer.

Before Bull got a chance to say a word, Jamie spoke. “I’m so sorry. I had no idea that my flirting would bring you so much pain.”

Bull had to sit down. Jamie was apologizing to him. “No, it wasn’t your fault,” Bull said firmly. “I should have been able to put you off politely. Better yet, I should have gotten some help before now. I kept it bottled up inside me and I guess the bottle burst. I didn’t want to cause you pain; I was lashing out at you because you were safe, you didn’t fight back.”

“I guess that makes me the twink you said I was.” Jamie sniffled.
