The aliens' morale was severely damaged by this. At this point, they had already lost two ships, and that wasn't even taking into account the absence of the four drone-style spaceships that didn't join the conflict.
"Colonel, I believe we must flee," An adviser made a suggestion. Colonel sent him a murderous gaze in response. This was sufficient as a response to the advisors and soldiers. He wouldn't concede defeat.
And thus the assault carried on. There was no reason to undervalue the alien spacecraft. They were able to withstand the Terran assault thanks to their sophisticated technology, and they fiercely retaliated. Energy bursts tore through the Terran ranks, sending battlecruisers quaking with the force of the blow and forcing their shields to flicker and falter beneath the onslaught.
Amidst the chaos of the battle, casualties began to mount on the side of the Terrans too but it was still negligible in front of number of death of the aliens. After being assaulted by multiple spaceships together Battlecruiser succumbed to the overwhelming firepower of the alien ships, its hull breached and engulfed in explosions.
But the Terrans fought on, undeterred by the losses. The battlecruisers that were still fighting came together, their resolve bolstered by the sacrifice of their fallen allies. They stepped up their attack with fresh vigor, concentrating their firepower on the vulnerable alien ships.
The humans on earth were seeing all of this. Many of the humans sobbed when the first battlecruiser crashed. It was said that humans were selfish and they didn't have any compassion. But if they were to look at humanity today, they would undoubtedly not think the same way.
People were heartbroken and outraged. Angry on the aliens who had attacked unprovoked, angry because they were helpless, angry that they couldn't do anything and just see people die. And also sad. They mourned for the losses of the jet fighters and the people in the battlecruiser.
The battle went on for around half an hour but people from all over the world, even people who had been sleeping on the other side of the planet, woke up due to all the commotion, cheered and prayed when the battleships of the aliens were brought down.
It was similar to a football game, only that here, instead of goals for every chant, death was the goal. The Terrans isolated and overpowered the remaining alien ships from one another through a mix of cunning maneuvers and unshakable cooperation. The quantity of Battlecruisers eventually overwhelmed them because there were already too many of them.
All the meantime, Robin and two androids were making special efforts to shoot down fighter jets. The captains of the ships requested assistance whenever it was needed because they were aware of the Supreme Commander's immense might and ability to shoot down fighter jets. He would 'fly' there and offer assistance however he could.
His lightsaber was used to defend himself from laser rays, while his Zenith sword was utilized to slash through the fighters. Even though he was readily protected by his shield, this had an effect, and he would veer off his purposeful course.
Any slight distraction irritated him, and he would have to readjust himself to resume fighting. So the lightsaber was quite handy at the moment and he dazzled in the stars for everyone to see. Of course, the humans wanted who this person was and the world leaders could already guess who this was but was afraid to admit it.
This was probably the head of North Korea and he was even more powerful individually than they thought. The international leaders were alarmed by this, especially those who were betting that North Korea and the aliens would likely fight it out. They had incredibly miscalculated North Korea.
"Put those officials and politicians in jail. There is no avoiding what is about to happen."
"We won't have a place to live if he doesn't have mercy, so I hope he does."
"I never thought about it but Karma is a bitch."
These were the opinions of the world's small-nation leaders, who had been a little uncooperative with North Korea's policies and were hoping for a miracle. The miracle would be their head resting on their shoulders, they thought after seeing the conflict. These self-centered folks didn't even consider the people who had sacrificed their lives to safeguard their land during all of this.
A moment of silence descended across the wreckage-strewn battlefield as the combat came to an end. There was only one remaining alien spacecraft, but it was heavily damaged and riddled with holes. The Colonel had the biggest spacecraft, which was also his own.
"I am going in." As he sped directly to the Colonel's half-destroyed vessel, Robin muttered. The extent of the devastation became clear as he got closer to the wrecked vessel. The outside was covered in broken glass and twisted metal. But he wasn't by himself. Additionally, Sigret and Myrene had followed him. So, unfazed, he skillfully made his way through the rubble.
As he approached the spaceship's entrance, the faint lighting produced unsettling shadows around the passages' ripped edges. Alarms intermittently sounded, their urgency ringing through the empty halls. The environment radiated disarray and helplessness.
Robin actually felt guilty after watching the mayhem and damage. He wanted to prevent that, but Kaylee had previously warned him when she hacked into their spacecraft that the spaceships were there to subjugate humanity. But he held hope. Hope that things will improve.
But he had overextended his hope. Even at the end, blood was still shed. He saw the wreckage of the bloody struggle that had split the ship in two. The walls were covered in burned-out control panels and holographic screens that were flashing. The flooring and ceilings were covered with scorch marks, which were signs of erratic energy releases. He had seen aliens lying dead on the ground with their limbs severed the entire way. He discovered that these aliens had four arms instead of the two he had seen during the video chat when looking through the blood and debris.
"Did they grow two more arms from the side abdomen or something?" As she observed the nearby dead aliens, Myrene murmured. Their bodies had been frozen but it was clear that they had been due to a lack of vacuum pressure and adequate heat.
"Looks like it."
He moved through the maze of broken hallways, his curiosity leading the way. He eventually arrived at the massive doors leading to the alien spaceship's main bridge. He stood in front of the enormous door as it slowly opened. It appeared as though the locked doors were waiting for him. Where he had been standing before, there was an equivalent vacuum pressure, so when the door opened, no rush of air was let out.
The main bridge of the spaceship was finally visible to Robin and the two androids as the door fully opened. However, it was only fleeting. He was met with a hail of laser bullets coming at him. Robin was prepared for that and used his wings as a barrier from behind to prevent the lasers from damaging his armor.
But he didn't take the shots while doing nothing. The Zenith sword, which he already held in his hand, was swung in the air. The blood bath was what came next. Without even a slight pause, the swords slashed through the surrounding alien soldiers, slicing them into numerous pieces. Green blood was all over, making it terrible.
Yes, the aliens' blood was green rather than red like that of humans. Even with the green blood, the scene was horrifying. The only individuals with guns in their hands were the Colonel and his counselors.
The advisors' hands were quivering, but the Colonel was still holding his rifle steadily. Their long life in comparison to people of Earth didn't give them the luxury to not fear death at the moment. Robin noticed the same level of terror in their expressions as he had when he observed the humans' scared faces.
Some things have never changed.
"What a magnificent welcome you received there." Robin said with humor. Hoping that he wasn't something like Drax from Guardians of Galaxy.
"If it is possible, I would love to provide a warmer welcome to you." Thankfully, the Colonel understood the sarcasm in his response.
"Well.. Since you engaged the Terrans in combat, it is their duty and, in my opinion, their right to question you given that you murdered so many of them. I am not very good at torturing." said Robin.
"You believe that I will even submit to a low species like yours." Robin said as Colonel yelled.
"Oh gosh. I thought the advanced species were supposed to not have racism in their bones since they had progressed over race and cultural differences. Even the stars don't change anything, do they?" As he spoke, Robin pulled out his wand and waved it around.
The environment abruptly started to shift, and in a matter of seconds, thick ropes consisting of various metals and alloys that had been used to build this spaceship quickly bound the Colonel and the advisors. It moved swiftly and quickly.
