Riley's POV
Claúdio sat beside me on the bench on the far side of the meadow. It was far away from the main manor, so I didn't have to worry about too many prying ears. His little legs swung aimlessly beneath the bench as she twisted his face and studied the sky.
I followed his gaze and finger as he traced shapes in the clouds with the tip of his finger. The brilliance of the morning sun has dulled slightly and now the clouds were rolling in to protect us from the scorching sun.
"The air is lighter here," he commented.
"Is it not like that where you're from?" I asked the native South American.
"Haha, no princess. My home is warm and damped. The rainforest is home to many creatures that need the humidity to maintain their slimy skins. I don't mind it. I never get too cold back home and my hair is always perfectly frizzy," he said and twirled one of his flaming locks around his pinkie.
