The lake is serene and without a single care in its world while I am still enflamed about my fiancé's ridiculous desire to flaunt her stupidity at every available opportunity.

Why does she insist on pushing me away … after everything we have been through? After how hard I have fought to keep her with me. Why can she never put away her silly façade and admit it when she needs my help?

I would do anything to be the person she runs to in her hour of need. I would battle Oya herself if it meant that Nix would resign herself to wanting me. I hate always having to fight for her attention when it should be mine as a default.

My only solace is that the water nymph doesn't have her attention either at the moment. Who says selfishness isn't a virtue anyhow?
