The Word
Noah is sitting outside a convenience store in South Korea near the orphanage, and the slurping of his ramen noodles echoes. People are constantly coming in and out of the store when he hears the ringing nonstop, but his focus is to finish the ramen before the noodles get soggy.
He cannot hear anything other than the footsteps of people coming and going when he hears someone lay a black bag at the table he's sitting.
The bag frightened him when he looked up to see a man about his age grin, "mind if I sit here?"
Noah did not sense any odd feeling from the guy and nodded his head as he looked down and continued chewing his noodles.
The guy brought three soju bottles from the bag and two shot cups. He was like a pro when the man began to shake the bottle of soju and pop it when he served both shot cups.
"Here you go." He slid the second shot cup to Noah when he had the other near his mouth, "a little company wouldn't hurt."
