Lazar is a man shaped by his past. Forced into exile when he was only a child, his only ambition in life was to become strong enough to take revenge. Years later, having completed his training in the American special forces, he was preparing to return to his native country to settle accounts. But again life played a trick on him... The Gods announced the Apocalypse and monsters coming from different mythologies and folklores were unleashed on Earth. Having basically the duty to fight in this war against evil, they finally decided to abandon humans leaving them a system that allows them to evolve, to know more about their enemy and the situation of the world. Lazar will not only have to survive, which is already quite difficult, but he will also realize that he has a role to play in this Apocalypse by leading those who will become his new family. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I'm Barbare, the author. For Lazar, everything was indicating that the 4 presences Amandla was talking about belonged to Alphas; it was explaining why she had just designated the TD Garden as the place from which they were coming, why she had specified that these presences were moving at a 'high' speed with a frown that was suggesting that it was a speed that she found worrying and also why she had detected so few presences...

Indeed, if their previous battle had been observed as Lazar had assumed, then he was sure that only Alphas would be confident enough to fight them, which by the way wasn't preventing him from thinking in his personnal opinion that if what these Alphas wanted was to fight with him and Amandla, then they were being very imprudent by thinking that the support of their packs wasn't necessary even considering the little strength they had shown.

Nevertheless, Lazar was keeping in mind that he and Amandla were in a rather disadvantageous situation right now; their enemies supposedly had a vague idea of their strength, as for them, they didn't know what 4 Alphas fighting together were capable of so it was clearly not the right time to get cocky, 'If they showed up as 4 then they're confident they can beat us as 4, that's all I need to keep in mind.' Lazar concluded while wondering how hard they were going to kill compared to the Alpha that Amandla had beaten.

*Cough*

Lazar rolled his eyes in exasperation then lowered them knowing very well where this coughing was coming from, he then saw Giulia spitting dark red blood on her chest...

Her complexion was extremely pale and it was obvious just by looking at her that she was going to die no matter what, but seeing her hopeful gaze turned in the direction Amandla had pointed, Lazar understood that she was still under the illusion that she had a chance of survival and that she was counting on the presences that had been mentioned to save her.

Seeing Giulia react like this confirmed Lazar's belief that he and Amandla were going to have to deal with Alphas, now there was only one thing left to do until they arrived and he was 'thankful' to Giulia for reminding him by drawing attention to her because after Amandla called out to him he had more or less forgotten her existence...

Lazar looked up at Amandla and gently tapped her right shoulder with the sheath of his blade while she seemed to be trying to determine where the presences she had detected were based on the way her eyes were wandering around the surrounding buildings and streets, "Take care of her quickly and don't worry, when they will arrive, they won't attack right away." Lazar declared in a calm tone while pointing his blade at Giulia's face before walking up to the edge of the roof that was facing the direction where the TD Garden was located.

Amandla didn't bother to use words or a sign to express her approval, she pointed her bow directly at Giulia and aimed between her two eyes without showing any hesitation...

In front of her, Giulia became even more livid than she already was when she saw that an arrow was directed at her, her expression was a mixture of confusion and anger at that moment as if she hadn't prepared herself for the possibility of dying in this way and was considering that what was going to happen to her wasn't fair.

As Giulia was opening her mouth with an expression similar to that of a rabid dog about to bark, Amandla drew the arrow she had intended for her, not wanting to leave her the opportunity to say anything and not thinking that it would be very intelligent words anyway considering the fact that until then the majority of their dialogues were limited to calling each other whores or sluts by shouting hysterically.

Knowing that Giulia's body in its human form was as fragile as any other normally constituted human being's, Amandla wasn't surprised when the head of the latter exploded like a watermelon would if shot at point blank with a shotgun when her arrow hit its target...

Having been through some particularly violent experiences when she was in the royal navy and even more disturbing things after that, she was used to seeing these kinds of horrors as well as being the cause of them, so after killing Giulia and looking at the big picture of what she and Lazar had done on that rooftop, the extent of her reaction was to sigh and wish good luck to whoever was going to have to clean it up if anyone ever bothered to do so.

Now that she was done with Giulia, Amandla focused fully on the current threat, she approached Lazar and stood waiting for the Alphas at his side, perched on the edge of the roof.

Lazar looked at Amandla as she came to his left, "Do you have any idea where they're going to arrive?" He asked her, once again relying on his partner's skills to help them anticipate what was coming next...

Amandla closed her eyes and seemed to concentrate, it took her a few seconds to answer him, "Just in front of us, at the back of the construction site to the right of the parking lot. They've slowed down quite a bit in the meantime, in fact, it looks like they're even walking." She informed him with a puzzled tone and expression.

Taking note of what Amandla had just told him, Lazar lowered his gaze and looked in the direction she had indicated, the construction site she had mentioned was 50 meters wide and 200 meters long in a rectangular shape delimited by fences...

Upon seeing this place, Lazar immediately thought that it would be much more advantageous for them to fight there rather than on the roof they were on and therefore it would be wise to intercept the Alphas now as they were approaching the construction site according to Amandla.

Hi everyone,

Unless I'm about to troll you, the next chapter will feature the first major battle in which Lazar and Amandla will fight together.
