“You shouldn’t have bothered hon. You know I’ll do it when I come back.” Nora said as she entered the kitchen with three grocery bags and a wobbling Nano behind her.
“Honestly I didn’t want to but Annie wanted us to do the dishes together.” He pointed to Annie who was wiping her hand with a napkin.
“Hi.” Annie greeted Nora.
Nora smiled at the sweet child who had captured her son’s heart. After placing the grocery bags on the kitchen counter, She approached Annie and pulled her into a hug.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, my child. Eric has told me so much about you. I hope you and this little one (She pointed at her belly) are doing great.”
“Yes, ma’am. We’re fine.” She replied politely.
“Quit the formality dear. You’re like a daughter to me now. You can call me Nora.”
