Chapter 19: Grandpa?

After a little while I heard fathers office door open. "Hello dear. Is something wrong?" "Sigh. Hello father. Yes and no." Then I told him what I told mother and what she told me. "Hmm. I see. Yes its true. She did die before you were born. There is one other in the family who is old and can tell you a little about the gifts you have received and might receive. Let me send them a letter and let them know to come over if they can." "Thank you father." Then I gave him a kiss on the cheeks. "Bye the way where is Arion, Jay, and the others?" "Oh they are getting ready for the little guys birthday." "Oh yeah your supposed to announce it soon right? That the little guy will be living here." "Yes and also announce the princess is going to have a baby." "Oh father. Anyway where are they getting ready at?" "Oh Your husband said to let you rest not to worry about it. Its probably boring but you will have a human being in there soon. You need to keep the baby healthy." "I know father. What about the Evans family?" "Oh they are here. Maybe Keyon can come visit you or your big sister. Your big sister is probably reading in her room." "Ok I will look for both. Do you know where Keyon is?" "Probably in her room not knowing what to do as well." "Ok thanks father. I will be going now."

I went to Keyon's room and knocked. (Knock knock) "Its Talia." "Oh princess please come in." "Hey there little sister. I am bored and my big sister is too. I thought maybe all three of us can hang out together. I have this new gift. I want to go in the garden with you two." "Ok cool. Sounds good." So we went to my big sisters room and knocked on her door. (Knock Knock) "Sister? Its Talia." "Oh come in sister." Then I told her what my plan was. "Ok sure lets go. I'll bring my sketchbook." My sister liked to sketch more than play her instrument. She plays guitar. My little brother plays the flute and big brother plays violin like me. He and my big sister have the most beautiful voice. I hope my kid does if not I hope they have some things they are good at. As we were walking my siblings and personal knight saw me in a daze. "Sister are you ok? Sister?" "Princess? Hey Princess!" "Huh sorry what were we talking about now? Sorry I got a little distracted." "Don't scare us like that." "Ok lets stop here everyone. Now I will show you my new gift. Hello Scarlet." "Oh Princess hello?" "Sister who is there? Are you talking to the flower?" said big sis. "Yeah its my new gift." "Nice to meet you all princess Azura and princess Keyon." "Aww so sweet. She called you a princess Keyon. Also she said it was nice to meet you both." "Nice to meet you too Scarlet." Scarlet was a red rose. "Scarlet has there been anything interesting happening when I was gone?" "No not that we can think of. Anyone did anything interesting happen?" "Nope not yet anyway. Oh yeah we saw Elsa flying around lately she looked like she was in a hurry to deliver a message." "Oh thank you sir. Did you see who sent it?" "It looked like your father." "Oh ok thank you its good to know I have eyes with not only animals but you beauties as well." "Aww thanks that means a lot to us." "Guys I'm sorry to cut this short. Dad had to have sent an urgent message." "Ok I understand. Lets go sister."

"Father is everything ok?" "Yes honey why would you think otherwise?" "You know about my new gift I got intel on one of them they said you sent an urgent message?" "Those blabbermouths." Her father thought he said under his breath. "Excuse me father. Can I talk to you in private?" "Yes lets go to my office."

"Father you know why I am here right?" "Yeah I must have said something out loud and didn't mean too. Sigh I guess there is no use in hiding it. Yes I have the gift as well that is the only gift I have though." "I see so you can talk to them as well. At least I won't be alone talking to them. Anyway father what was the urgent message?" "Oh don't worry about it. I made it sound urgent so they have to come or they probably won't come to talk to you about your gifts." "Speaking of gifts, who was the woman who died before my birth? Was it grandma? An auntie?" "Yes it was my mother. She died a few months before you were born." "I'm sorry dad. What about grandpa?" "Oh about that he is the old man I had coming here. I had to make it urgent." "I see how far is he?" "Oh once he gets the letter within a day he will be here in 4 hours." "Oh my what exactly did you tell grandpa?" "That you had some urgent news to tell him." "It's the first time meeting him. Why would he care? Why didn't he meet us after so long?" "Its him you should ask." "OK father. I will. I think I am going to be in the music room for a bit." "Ok honey just be careful." "I will father." Then I left and did just that.

I went to the music room and picked up my violin and started playing new music I had found laying around. Then I started playing it on my violin.

Not long after she started playing, her grandpa came in. "Where I that granddaughter of mine?" "She is in the music room father. Go in quietly please don't scare her due to her health." "What's wrong with her?" "She wants to tell you herself." "OK then." So he went there and opened the door quietly and sat on the furniture and waited for her to finish. He was enjoying the music and it was calming. He also recognized the music.

After awhile I stopped then I heard clapping. "Oh hello. You must be my grandpa." "Yes dear one. I am. You play beautifully. Tell me where did you find that song?" "Oh it was just laying around in here and though I would play it." "I see. So your father said you have something to tell me?" "Yes grandpa. Is it ok if I call you that?" "Sure why not." "Ok thank you." Then I told him what was on my mind about my gifts that I am pregnant and about little Arion and Jay. About what happened these past 2 years I was gone and recent happenings. "I see. Yes your grandmother had the gifts you did. She had one more you might get. She left me a note for you in case you got some of the gifts she did. Here take it." I took the note and said, "Thank you grandpa also I have one more question. It is a hard one to answer but we have the right to know. Why is this our first meeting?" I saw shock on grandpa's face. "Well it would be your little brothers and your first meeting yes. I have meet with Lycan and your sister Azura a few times. Why don't I talk with you and your brother together if you don't mind. Also I think I better talk to that son and daughter in law as well." "Thank you grandpa." "Sure."

My husband and the others finally came back in. "Mommy!" said Arion. "Arion will be a year at in a week or so I told you about him." "Yes you did." "Hey buddy." He can say mommy and daddy is all right now. "Hey Jay. Grandpa this is my husband Jay Evans." "Nice to meet you. I am Adrian her grandfather." "Nice to meet you sir. How should I call you?" "Oh just call me grandpa like her. I would like to talk to Onyx and Talia alone if you don't mind?" "Yeah sure." "Oh and your parents are going to be there as well." "Ok sure." Onyx agreed.

We met in the parlor room. "So you probably know why I asked for this meeting son." Said grandpa to my father. "Yes father I have an idea." "Good then lets get straight to it. The reason why I wasn't around when the two younger ones were born. Well for the first few years after Talia was born I was sick. I didn't want any of you to see me in my weak state. The second reason well it was me blaming Talia for my wife's death. I know its not your fault though. I know from the beginning I was blaming myself. With her around I never came by and never asked for any of you to come over. I knew the stories of people with gifts. Once they are gone their powers go to the next one born. It happened to be Talia. From now on I won't be hiding anymore I might not be able to come by as much since I am getting old but You can come visit me." "Grandpa. My brother Lycan is the future king now. I'm sure it would be ok with him if you stayed here. After all you only have servants and guards keeping you company right?" I said. I saw grandpa look at dad and mom. They both nodded. "Well I tell you what. I will give you an answer within a week until then I would be willing to stay." "OK thank you father."

They had butlers guide grandpa to his room to rest. "Thank you sirs." Then he went and laid down.

It was a day before Arion's birthday. so grandpa decided to stay here. He had butlers and other people bring his stuff over. As of right now my father and I are in the garden talking to the flowers. "Scarlet why didn't you tell me that father can talk to you guys?" "Oh don't blame them. I told them not to." "Ok fine it's a free bee then." "Thank you." We talked to them about what has happened lately then we went over to talk to bud and headed back.

We saw grandpa sitting on the bench. "OH hello grandpa." "Hello Talia. How are you feeling?" "Hmm. Fat bloated." "Not very well huh?" Well once the child or children are born you will be fine." "I hope so." Then father decided to tell us about old times.

After awhile we all got up and headed back inside. "Well father grandpa is Jay is looking for me let him know I'm in my room sleeping." "Ok get a rest sweetie ok?" "Yes father thank you."

After awhile the boys finally came inside. "Hello grandfather. Father. Is Talia sleeping?" "Yes she told us to let you know." "Well I won't bother her for now." "Mommy?" "Oh baby mommy is not feeling good mommy is sick." Then Arion hugged Jay. "Its ok little guy. Its your nap time anyway." "I'm going to put the little guy down." "OK good luck." "Hey grandpa I want to show you something." Said Onyx. "Can you come out so I can show you?" "Yeah sure."

Jay got the little guy down and went to check on his wife. "Hey Talia how you feeling?" No response. He felt her head and said, "Get someone to call a doctor. She has a fever." "Yes your highness right away."

"Hmm. Jay? What is it? you look worried." "You have a fever Talia. The doctor will be here soon." Then she fell back to sleep. The doctor finally came and checked her temperature. "She has a fever. This shot is safe for her and the baby in fact it will make them both strong then I will give you some herbs to help with that." "Yes doctor thank you." He gave her the shot then prescribed herbs. "If any other symptoms give me a call." "Yes sir thank you." Jay put a cold rag on her head to try to get her fever down a little.

Grandpa saw the doctor come out of Talia's room and stopped him. "Doctor. How is she? Is she ok?" "She will be now. I gave her some medicine and prescribed her some herbs." "Thank you doctor." He nodded. Then grandpa decided to knock on Talia's door. (Knock Knock) "Come in." said Jay. "Oh hello grandpa." "Hi Jay how is she feeling now?" "I'm fine now grandpa. I just had a fever. The baby and I are fine now." "Did she over work herself?" "Yeah she did." "Looks like you won't be doing much these next few days. You will be sitting with me at the party keeping me company Talia." "Yes grandpa."

Finally the Day of Arion's birthday. We had it in the forest closer to where Fawns mom and grandma lived. They were a few more elf friends that came as well to celebrate. I was told to rest but I brought my violin and wanted to play for him as my gift. I also wrote a song for him. Yeah its not really a gift but I did it. I talked with my grandpa and everyone greeted us including Arion. "Hey baby. Happy birthday big boy." "Mommy!" Then he gave me a hug. "Oh I love you too baby. Are you having fun?" He shook his head up and down. "Good I'm glad. Say hi to grandpa." He waved to grandpa. "Hello there Arion. Your two now huh?" He looked at me and I nodded. He nodded yes. "Ok go have fun with your friends kiddo." Then he left and joined his friends. After we sang happy birthday had some cake it was present time. He wanted me to give mine first. "Ok well I have a song I wrote for you Arion. Let mommy play it on her violin." He clapped cause he liked me playing. Then I started playing my violin and it was relaxing me.

Finally the song ended and everyone clapped. Arion ran over and jumped on me. "Easy there buddy. Mommy has a baby in her tummy remember?" "I know your sorry just be careful ok?" He nodded. "Ok now go open presents." He ran and opened his other presents. "Are you ok Talia?" Said Grandpa. "Don't worry I'll be fine grandpa." "Ok I hope so."

I was finally 8 months pregnant. The baby could come at any time now. The day after Arion's birthday father announced Arion's existence and some people cheered others didn't care. Since the baby was due soon I was told to stay in bed. Little Arion would sometimes come to me and feel the baby kick. He can talk a little more now. He said baby kick? Don't kick mommy not nice." Its so adorable. I hope it's a little girl."
