Will she be able to stop herself from killing him? or would her fate change? ......... "I never knew you read these kinds of books. I only read the middle page and I’m thrilled." "H…how did you get it?" She gulped. He chuckled. "Come and get it, sweet. I don’t bite." Raziel narrowed her eyes. He was trying to trick her into opening the window. "It’s not that hard. Come on, I’ll give you your erotica," he assured, drawing on the last word. "It’s not erotica. You’re horrible at reassuring people." "And you’re a pro at hurting my ego." "Seriously?" "No." She glared at him and he smirked. Seems like she was no longer scared of his blazing golden eyes. Such a huge achievement. "I won’t hurt you, sweet, sweet, Raziel," he spoke out as he used his hands to tell her to come forward. Noticing the reluctance and doubt in her eyes, he shrugged his shoulders. "Fine, I’ll grant your request and leave," he said as he sauntered towards the railing of her balcony. He heard her panicked voice and her loud footsteps as she quickly tossed the blanket off her body and hurried to the window. Just as he saw her opening the balcony window, he smirked at her and leaped off the balcony. She released a horrified shout as expected. It was a five-floor drop after all. "C…come back!" She slightly whispered, dreading to wake her family or alert the guards. He turned a deaf ear to her. A hand was tucked into his pocket as he walked down the mansion with ease. His free hand swung the book as he walked. He kept walking and just as he had predicted, she uttered the word. Raziel panicked. She sprinted out of her bedroom, barefoot and with just her thin nightgown. The book wasn’t hers, it was May’s and she would fight with her if she found out that her book was missing and that she took it. She doesn’t want any quarrel with May and she has to take the book from him to avoid May’s wrath. Raziel ran outside and was welcomed by the chilly cold and the bright light of the moon. She sighted him walking away and she racked her brain for something to say. Yes, she now knew his name. She had seen it at the royal grandmother’s birthday party. She had forgotten his name until it was forced out of her. "Valhoon, please!"

Prophecy

After telling Rani the whole story, Raziel watched as her friend stared at her with her mouth wide open, without saying anything. Why isn't she saying anything? She was supposed to tell her how to get rid of her horrible nightmare or maybe accompany her for the night.

"I know right? I shouldn't have told you all this. I only ended up getting more scared and you have no solution to that. Why are you not saying anything?" She asked, frowning at Rani as if she stole her favorite teddy.

"I'm scared," Rani answered.

"Of what?"

"Of the story you just told me about."

"It's not a story, it's my experience," Raziel corrected.

"Yes, I'm scared. I can already picture the vampire's faces in my mind just as you describe them and it's freaking me out. What if I start having nightmares about them too? Or...or I start seeing them wherever I go. I'm even seeing them here in your room."

"W...where?" Raziel asked, staring around the room in search of the vampires Rani said she was seeing.

"I mean, I'm picturing them like they're here. I don't want to but my mind just won't listen to me," she panicked. She was so scared just from hearing about Raziel's experience with the vampires. No wonder she was having a nightmare. Who wouldn't after having such a bad experience?

Rani was scared to the brim. How would she be able to sleep tonight with all the scenes from Raziel's nightmare playing in her mind? With all of these, she doubt she would be able to sleep tonight, and even if she does, it will be so late. Mrs. Crayon would surely scold her for waking up late in the morning.

Raziel could only stare at Rani in disbelief. Rani was something else and she knew that. She should be consoling her and telling her how to get rid of the nightmare instead of getting insecure. She rolled her eyes and said,

"Rani, this won't do. Stop panicking. I'm supposed to be the one shaking like you are right now b...but you're not helpful at all. Please leave."

What. But you're having nightmares."

"So... I told you about it but you started shaking like a leaf. I'll try and sleep. You should leave," she repeated and Rani got up from the bed frowning, and walked out of the room.

Daxtan Palace

"Why are you following behind me?" The king asked as he stopped to look behind him and stare at Gaspher who has been trailing behind him ever since he left the ballroom. "I'm going to my bedroom to have a shower. It's like you want to come too. Do you want to have a shower with me?" He asked with a straight face.

"N...no your majesty."

"Then why are you following me? I bet you want to have a shower."

"I don't want to and I doubt you were going to take a shower instead of going having fun," Gaspher said. The king shook his head and continued his journey but Gaspher quickly called him back.

"Your majesty, please wait, I have something to say," he called, running after him and Valhoon paused, turning to face him.

"What do you want Gaspher?" The king mused. His countenance was unbelievably calm. It was in his nature to maintain his composure.

"Y...your majesty, the girl you wer..."

"Did you perhaps drink something weird at the ball?" king Valhoon, asked.

"I'm perfectly sober, your majesty. I wanted to say that the lady you were staring at all through the party. I mean the one you brought the other day. S..she migh.."

"Will you quit it? You town fool," he hissed. He could just walk off, leaving the town fool to keep stumbling over his words, but that would be useless with Gaspher. He would still follow him until he gets what he wants from him.

"I mean the lady might be the Golden Jinx of the prophecy. I didn't think about it that day but today when I saw her again, I confirmed it," Gaspher said, pinging the king's interest.

"Dark red hair, rare Grey eyes, and she was born on the day of Halloween. A minute before Halloween ends. Her sisters were birthed on the same day, but they don't have any of these features.

Her whole features match the prophetess's words. She will bring the best luck but she will also bring bad luck. She will make you smile but she will also make you cry. She's destined to kill you and nothing would be able to stop her, not even herself. Your majesty, we should do something about her," Gaspher persuaded.

They need to do something before it turns into something else. The prophecy was made by the oldest prophetess witch, five hundred years ago and they have been getting rid of all the ladies with the said features. Countless ladies with Raziel's features have been killed by them, yet the old prophetess witch still speaks of it. Gaspher hopes she was the one this time, so they would get rid of her once and for all.

The king stared into space as his mouth fell open in disbelief. What if she was really the one in the prophecy this time? All her features match and even her name do. Raziel. How could he not have thought about it? Just when he wanted something for real, it turns out to be something else. She would make him smile and she'll also make him cry. Damn! What was the thinking? They were other girls with these features too, though not as defined and accurate as hers.

"Your majesty, should I get rid of her?" Gaspher asked and the king thought. Should he? It wasn't as if he cares about her more than himself. No.

"Don't you dare, you idiot. You believe anyone with dark red hair and grey eyes is the Golden Jinx, but she's not."

"But your maje..."

"As much as I enjoy killing people, I will be entertaining myself with someone else right now," the king said. His voice was low and calm as he run his tongue over his lips.

"Please tell me where you're going, your majesty. You don't need protection but I have sworn to keep you safe."

"As you said, I don't need protection. I'll be back," king Valhoon, nonchalantly spoke. Gaspher opened his mouth to protest but before he could say anything, the king was gone. The wind howled and the hallway curtains flew with the wind as the windows slam against each other.

"He's gone."
