"H…how did you get it?" She gulped. He chuckled. "Come and get it, sweet. I don’t bite." Raziel narrowed her eyes. He was trying to trick her into opening the window. "It’s not that hard. Come on, I’ll give you your erotica," he assured, drawing on the last word. "It’s not erotica. You’re horrible at reassuring people." "And you’re a pro at hurting my ego." "Seriously?" "No." She glared at him and he smirked. Seems like she was no longer scared of his blazing golden eyes. Such a huge achievement. "I won’t hurt you, sweet, sweet, Raziel," he spoke out as he used his hands to tell her to come forward. Noticing the reluctance and doubt in her eyes, he shrugged his shoulders. "Fine, I’ll grant your request and leave," he said as he sauntered towards the railing of her balcony. He heard her panicked voice and her loud footsteps as she quickly tossed the blanket off her body and hurried to the window. Just as he saw her opening the balcony window, he smirked at her and leaped off the balcony. She released a horrified shout as expected. It was a five-floor drop after all. "C…come back!" She slightly whispered, dreading to wake her family or alert the guards. He turned a deaf ear to her. A hand was tucked into his pocket as he walked down the mansion with ease. His free hand swung the book as he walked. He kept walking and just as he had predicted, she uttered the word. Raziel panicked. She sprinted out of her bedroom, barefoot and with just her thin nightgown. The book wasn’t hers, it was May’s and she would fight with her if she found out that her book was missing and that she took it. She doesn’t want any quarrel with May and she has to take the book from him to avoid May’s wrath. Raziel ran outside and was welcomed by the chilly cold and the bright light of the moon. She sighted him walking away and she racked her brain for something to say. Yes, she now knew his name. She had seen it at the royal grandmother’s birthday party. She had forgotten his name until it was forced out of her. "Valhoon, please!"

Bite The Hands That Feed You

Raziel's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the bubble covering them.

Did she just cast a spell?

It was crystal clear she had just cast a shield spell. But how? She felt a gush of strength leave her, making her whole body feel numb. She stared at the thousands of vampires and she screamed again. Thank goodness it was all caught in the bubble and the Vampires could neither see nor hear them.

Their bloody red eyes were staring around and their fangs were out, making Raziel want to think that all of this was a nightmare and that she would wake up anytime soon in her cabin. Her heart was beating loudly, possibly trying to hop out of her, and her body was trembling in fear.

"Didn't you just say you don't know how to cast a spell?" She heard valhoon asked beside her.

"I-I don't know how I was able t-to do it," she stuttered, with her voice shaky.

"It's very rare for a witch to cast a spell without learning it," he pondered.

Raziel shrieked when she saw the Vampires moving towards them with their eyes filled with bloodlust. She was stopping herself from fainting at the moment. Her eyes were closing and her body was going limp but she manages to keep herself up as she was scared. What if they eat her up if she lost consciousness? Or drain her dry of her blood, which she doesn't want.

"They are not supposed to see us, then why are t- they moving towards us?" She asked him in fear.

"Shh, indeed, they can't see or hear us but they can feel and smell your presence in this forest and they are not walking towards us because they can see us, they're just trying to find out where the scent is coming from," valhoon answered, trying to hold her body from falling and keeping her still.

These vampires, he could recognize these vampires very well. These were the people he trained to become who they are, yet they're the ones trying to wipe him and his memories from the face of the earth. He knew someone sent them, but that doesn't justify anything as he was going to teach them a good lesson when he manages to get out of this place and make sure the scaredy cat who was clinging to his arm was safe. How dare they bite the very same hands that feed them. Valhoon could feel his anger rising to the brim and his bloodthirst increasing. His fangs were slowly growing out, stabbing into his lips and his fingernails grew, turning black and sharp.

Raziel turned her head to look at the now quiet man who was standing beside her with an awful aura and her heart nearly flew outside the bubble. Her body shook as her insecurities increased. All of this was going to give her a heart attack. Valhoon looked at her and saw her trembling, staring at him as if she just saw a ghost, he managed to control his emotions and turn back to normal. He didn't know that the fear Raziel got from seeing him this way was more than the fear of seeing a ghost.

Before any of them could say anything, the bubble started blinking like it was going to vanish any second from now. The spell was fading away and valhoon doubted that she would be able to do it again. Raziel's head snapped, turning her body and looking at the blinking bubble which serves as protection to them, in fear. It was fading away and the vampires would now see them. The tears which she has been blinking back for a while, freely fell like they wanted to fill an ocean.

"Listen to me," valhoon ordered.

"The spell is going to fade away now. I'll distract them and take them down. Try doing what you did before and cast a shield spell on yourself, unless you you want to die now. Do you understand?" He continued, in an authoritative tone, and that even made her cry harder and only her sobs could be heard in the bubble. How was she going to cast another spell when she doesn't even know how she did it the first time? Maybe this was karma paying her back for all the misfortunes she has caused her family and for being such an unfilial and disobedient child. She didn't want to be anyone's food especially not these bloodthirsty night creatures.

Seeing she didn't answer him and only kept crying, Valhoon held her hands and gave her the golden staff he has been holding and ordered,

"Hold this and protect it with your life."

He held her arms with both his free hands and shook her, making her stare at him with blurry eyes.

"Do as I say, the bubble is going to vanish. Try and cast another shield spell on yourself, NOW!" he roared, his fangs and nails growing, piercing into her arms but he quickly freed her. His golden orbs shone brighter and just then, the bubble disappeared.

The vampires turn their heads in their direction and snarled their fangs at them. Valhoon ran forward and they jumped through some trees and landed in front of him.

"He sent you guys right, Jerry?" He asked one of the vampires with his eyes blazing with anger.

"Oh, you knew? Well, we all want to climb to the maximum and there's nothing we could do except to get rid of the stumbling block on our way. It's your fault for training us to be this strong, your majesty," Jerry answered, smiling and showing his fangs.

"Right, it's my fault and I'm going to atone for it today. How dare you bite the hands that feed you? Bastards," Valhoon roared, lunging at him but Jerry quickly step aside and push some of the rogues to him. Soon they surrounded him.

Raziel felt the bubble return and covered her in the spot where she was standing. She could clearly see the Vampires lunging at Valhoon with blades and she saw how he snap one of the vampire's necks like a twig and threw him away like a piece of paper. That sight brought bile to her throat and more of the vampires kept having their necks snapped by Valhoon. That was when she succumbed to her dizziness and her body went limp as she fell on the floor with the golden staff in her hands and the bubble encircling her.

Valhoon took one of the vampire's swords and threw him aside. He has taken down more than one hundred vampires and it seems they only keep increasing.

"Your majesty," someone called from behind causing the battle to pause and they all turn to glance at the intruder.
